Comments about Ibanez Artcore AS7312 12-String Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar:

I wanted a 12-string sound for band use. I thought I'd fake it with a MicroPOG, but a 12-string can't really be faked. I tried an acoustic-electric 12 but didn't like the big chunky neck. And I couldn't afford a Rickenbacker, so it was Ibanez Artcore to the rescue!

Pros: It's not neck-divy, it's very lightweight, and it feels like quality. Tuning machines work well, pots have decent rolloff, binding looks good all around. Pickups sound decent & balanced. All reasonable quality is what I'm saying.

Cons: the nut width appears to be exactly as wide as my (6-string) SG Pro, so there's not a lot of room for fingering end chords. Bridge doesn't have separate adjusters for the secondary strings.

Conclusion: there's not a lot of variables with 12's, so no wasted extras here. The skinny neck will take some getting used to, but I'm getting the riffs I wanted. The six-saddle bridge isn't such a big concern to me (12-strings can't be perfectly tuned anyway), but there is one available for $150 via online parts sellers.

Of course, I just got it today so maybe I'll change my mind later, but at this point it does just what I wanted: t sounds like a 12. plays decent & isn't a log. I will have to switch it to lefty because Artcore doesn't make a lefty 12, but I'm convinced it's worth the effort. Rondo's custom shop would cost twice as much & required a five month wait, so thank you GC & Artcore

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AS7312 12-String Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar:

I play in a "nostalgia" rock/cover band. This guitar really nails the 12-string sound we've sought particularly with respect to songs by the Byrds. The fit and finish was quite impressive and playability was excellent! I believe it to be a much better value than 12-string electric guitars costing several times as much as this one!

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AS7312 12-String Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar:

I bought a sunburst AS7312 as a "stupid deal" closeout mostly because I happened to have been learning a few REM, Smiths, and Petty tunes at the time that I stumbled upon the sale- though I had never even played a twelve before. To be honest, I wasn't expecting such a nice guitar. The finish is perfect, it's easy to play (I'm a novice), holds tune reasonably well, and sounds sublime. Admittedly, my perspective is a bit limited as this is only my third guitar, but I really think this Ibanez is a great option to add a little jangle to your repertoire without breaking the bank.

Great construction, feel, and sound

By RICHARD PERRY

from Rochester, NY

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AS7312 12-String Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar:

Just received this guitar, after it having been on back order for a month. Great appearance, sound, and fingerboard response. I had owned a Rickenbacker 360-12 back in the 60's and this is my first electric 12 since then. The AS7312 provides some striking similarities to the Rick 360-12 in achievable response/tones. The sole reason that I am rating this a "4" is that Ibanez has not one hard shell case included its offerings that can accommodate this guitar.

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AS7312 12-String Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar:

Great looking guitar that really has a nice tone to it. The only negative is keeping it in tune and that Ibanez really doesn't make a case that fits it. The Epiphone Ed-red fits the guitar perfect though.

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AS7312 12-String Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar:

This 12 string is fun and enjoyable to play. The overall set up was good, but I had to adjust the
trust rod 1/4 turn and lower the bridge 1/2 turn on each side to improve the action. This was easy to do and did not cause any fret buzz and good elevation was maintained over the pick ups. The craftsmanship is excellent and finish is beautiful. The ASC100C Ibanez case was too short for this 12 string. Royce at Musician's Friend helped me with the return, found me a beautiful Epiphone EDREAD case, which fits very well (with the addition of a bath towel in the bottom of the case to level the neck). Tuning problems are eliminated by keeping this 12 string in the case , while the guitar is not in use. The 15% Holiday sale at Musician's Friend was fantastic!

      Great Guitar

      By Phil Akre

      from New Jersey

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AS7312 12-String Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar:

I was recently given this guitar for Christmas. I must say it is beautiful right out of the box. I got the Vintage Burst finish and it is stunning. This guitar is built very well. When plugged in, you can get 3 different tones. One tone being that snappy, twangy jangle of George Harrison. Or a more fuller, round sound of something like The Byrds or some Rush tunes. You're gonna have to do some adjusting on your amp to really get that true 12-String tone. This guitar is good for someone who is looking for a cheaper alternative to a hollow-body 12 string. Obviously a brand like Gretsch and Rickenbacker is better but that also means much more $$$. All in all, this is an amazing 12 string that offers that vintage 12-string tone at an affordable price.

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AS7312 12-String Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar:

I always wanted a 12 string to get the "jangle" of Beatles, Byrds and Tom Petty. I just never had the money to get the guitars they used. This Ibanez gives you that sound for 1/4 the price. Great feel, great craftsmanship. I haven't put it down since I got it.
