Comments about Ibanez Artcore AS53 Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar:

The guitar is beautifully crafted. I love the rich tones. There is a little fret buzzing, but overall it has a very clean sound when plugged in. This is a great guitar for live performances, practicing, jamming, even for some lo-fi recording. I have no complaint on this guitar given the lower-range cost and high-quality craftsmanship.

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AS53 Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar:

This is probably the best cheap semi hollow you can buy the thin neck profile makes it fantastic to play the Sapele makes it a bit darker sounding than a maple body. The only problem I had with mine was a loose ground wire on the jack input that was easy enough to fix. The pickups need to be changed the neck pickup is kind of muddy and the bridge pickup is a bit harsh on the high end but for $300 you can easily change the pick ups out and have a fantastic guitar for under $500

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AS53 Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar:

I've been teaching myself how to play for about two years and I am having a hard time putting this guitar down. I own two Fenders (MIM STRAT HSS) and a Acoustic. I am finding this Ibanez really easy to play and I love the simple electronics. I might upgrade the electronics later on but for my needs and skill level I would recommend it to anyone. It is comfortable to sit and stand with, great tone, be a great for a beginner or someone like me who wanted a affordable semi-hollow. It has some feedback when you apply distortion but the humbuckers do a good job at keeping it down. I also really like the Flat finish (Hands don't stick to it) and chrome hardware.

      Great value

      By Roadie Joe

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AS53 Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar:

This guitar is a great value. I've been playing guitar and working in the industry since the 70's. I've owned countless guitars. This inexpensive Ibanez sounds good unplugged and plays great. The control scheme is simpler than an ES335 but that is a plus in my book. I play teles so one volume and one tone control with a 3-way switch is fine by me. Plus the body is slightly smaller than a ES335 but bigger than an ES339. It strikes a good balance of resonance and comfort. I replaced the pots and pickups, now it sounds a great as it plays. The sapele wood has a mahogany-like resonance and the neck feels like butter. This guitar is a keeper.

      Amazing guitar for the money

      By Jason Pearson

      from Denver

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AS53 Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar:

I play blues, rock and metal...and this guitar does it all! I cannot believe how one guitar can clearly and smoothly play so many styles of music with so few features. This guitar is clean, clear and feels great along the neck. The pickups are decent and the variety of sounds you get from this guitar makes this my favorite out of the three I own.

Great Quality For A Low Price

      By Tristan Cumberledge

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AS53 Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar:

I've been teaching myself guitar for about 3 years now and I have never bought a guitar for myself until now. I saw one of these at my local music store, picked it up, and started playing it. For starters its got some decent pickups. Its got a nice feel to it neck - wise. The bridge is nice too. Its got a three switch pickup selector which can allow you to experiment with sound. It stays in tune as well. To be honest, it felt like I was playing a plastic guitar at first because it's so smooth. I love everything about this guitar. You can go from a dirty to clean sound easily. I'm in a grunge/alternative band and I think we could really use a hollow body like this in the mix. My guitarist bought an RG series Ibanez for a great price. So that's how I stumbled upon this beauty. If you're looking for a budget hollow body, this is the one to get. It's it's great for starters, blues or rhythm players.

      Fantastic Value

      By Ray LaRussa

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AS53 Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar in red about 2 weeks ago and I couldn't be happier! The tone, feel, and overall build quality are EXCELLENT. The guitar has a beautiful satin finish asnd the neck is super smooth. The Sapele wood is gorgeous and this guitar blows away all others in the same or greater price range. The Epiphone Dot is not even in the same league. I own the Ibanez AF75 as well and now understand why George Benson endorses Ibanez. This is the perfect guitar for anyone looking to purchase a an ES 335 style hollow body, be they beginner or performer. The only objection I have is the fret ends are a bit sharp, but a little time with a dressing file will resolve that issue, which is more personal preference than actual necessity.

      Great guitar in EVERY respect!

      By Ray LaRussa

      from Granville, NY

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AS53 Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar:

I bought this 2 days ago and I love it. The appearance and quality are top of the line. I bought the AG75 several months ago and was impressed with that Ibanez as well, but this ES-335 style (thinner body, double cutaway) is superb in sound and quality. I was amazed at the action and the fact that it stays in tune and plays as easily as my Les Paul. The Sapele wood is gorgeous and the neck is thin and SMOOTH AS GLASS. The sound is amazing and can fit every music genre just by pickup selection and tone knob manipulation. For less than $300 it is a steal and I would recommend it to anyone at any level. Prior to purchasing this make and model I examined two Epiphone's in a similar price category, including the DOT Studio. I was not as impressed with the Epiphones. The actions were not as low, the necks were not as comfortable to me, and the finish was not as nice. Also the DOT Studio model has no fret markers on the neck surface and the display model exhibited some fret buzz, which may be able to be corrected, but to me that is an indication of quality control and build quality. This guitar, like most in it;'s orice range, is made in China, but the quality and the way it is set-up from the factory is equivilent to much highe priced guitars. Check one out if you are in the market for a quality instrument at a cheap price! You won't regret it! I certainly don't.

      Ibanez Artcore AS53

      By Jacob Perry

      from RPB, FL

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AS53 Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar:

I got this guitar in red about a week ago and I must say I'm impressed. To start off with it's beautiful and plays wonderfully. Also it has great tone. You would think that with the minimalist styling (only one tone knob) it would be rather limited but, of course you'd be wrong. It can go from a very fat raunchy sound to a more thin jazzy sound all by turning the one tone knob up or down. Hooked into the amp it has a great full sound but played unplugged it sounds good as well. Being semi hollow its very convenient if you aren't near an amp or else are just too lazy to get off of the couch with it. (occasionally me) :) The action of the neck is superb in that the playability is very smooth. It also stays in tune for a long time of heavy use. All in all I'm very pleased with this guitar, it's tone, look, quality, everything. I definitely recommend it.
