Artcore is no bore

By AboveAverageJoe

from Greer, SC

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AFS75T Electric Guitar:

I have this guitar, and let me start off by saying, out of the box this guitar was begging to be played. For the price, Ibanez has to cut a few corners as we all know, and those corners are easily squared up. I changed the tuners immediately with a set of Grovers, and the pickups came out next. I replaced them with a matching set of Seymores; WOW. This guitar just turned into a monster. Sustain for the brain. That sweet, mid-hungry hollow body tone just jumped out and grabbed me. I love this guitar. The action is perfect, and the neck is just the right size. Add in a Bigsby, and you have yourself an all purose axe! The upgrades cost me about $200.00, but now the guitar sounds like it cost $2000.

WOW Great job ibanez!

By Jazzmaster96

from Denver, CO

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AFS75T Electric Guitar:

First off, may i just say that the whole Artcore series is just fantastic. This model in particular grabbed my eyes at the music store. The semi-hollow body makes for a very deep, rich tone and almost acoustic sounds when played clean or unplugged. Keep in mind that it is a bigsby, not a whammy. If you do happen to use this guitar with distortion, there will be feedback, as this will happen with most semi-hollow guitars. Also keep in mind that this guitar is not capable of super high fret access so it is not a good guitar for shredding or intricate soloing. Although i do have more than one guitar, this is my preferance for jazz, but it isn't the greatest guitar for rock or metal.

Good guitar for a great price.

By Saeed

from Mission Viejo, CA

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AFS75T Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar about a year ago.. Plays quite well. The action is nice, I recommend this guitar to anyone who doesn't have the money to go and buy a Gretsch. The only issue was that the Wammy bar is too close to the high 'e' string and keeps rubbing against it while I play. The pickcard pretty much sucks.. it always would rumble and vibrate so I just screwed it off. Overall, great tone and action!

Truly an awesome and versatile guit

By DanTheMan

from Los Angeles ,California

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AFS75T Electric Guitar:

I was shopping around for an electric guitar at a local guitar center and came across this Ibanez Artcore AFS75T of a beauty. Right away I was attracted by its looks, and as soon as I played this geetar, I knew that was the one. The sound on this guitar is awesome. The dual humbuckers is what really makes it a versatile guitar. The tremelo bar isn't a bad feature either. This guitar goes from 50's rock n' roll to blues, rockabilly, jazz and pretty much any style yore soul decides to play. I really recommend this guitar if you're looking for good sounds, features, and looks. Definitely worth buying.

Beautiful

By Icky Thump

from Baltimore, MD

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AFS75T Electric Guitar:

Bought this guitar used 6 months ago, and it does a very good job. Has the best tone of all my guitars. Gives an acoustic-electric vibe on clean, so buying this saves you the trouble of getting an acoustic-electric. Produces very good sounds for jazz and punk. If you're creative with feedback, you can even get a doom metal sound (reminiscent of Celtic Frost). The only minor problem is the strap buttons come loose very easily; almost on a day to day basis. Overall, this guitar was a good buy. I would recommend for almost every style of music

PIece of art!

By Snappy

from Bloomington, IL

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AFS75T Electric Guitar:

As soon as I picked up this guitar I fell in love. The thinner body and the lightweight feel just fit me perfectly. I've only had it for two weeks now, but I still have to pick it up every time I see it. The action is a little high for me, but that will soon be fixed. This guitar is set up for thicker 11 strings so that took a little getting used to but I LOVE THIS GUITAR! Quality is exceptional and I can't find a flaw if there is one.

Beats the Epiphone

By dan

from Marina Ca.

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AFS75T Electric Guitar:

I first had the Epiphone version of the 335 Dot and thought it was good but compared to the Ibanez, the Epi sounded flat and had very little tone. Ive read many of the reviews and i must have gotten the cream of the crop because my frets are fine, my tone is good and has range, sounds good plugged in and unplugged, and most importantly it stays in great tune even after using the trem. you just cant abuse the trem and expect it to keep it in tune.

exellent guitar!!!!

By Justin

from clovis,Ca

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AFS75T Electric Guitar:

this is the guitar i learned to play on, and it is an amazingly easy guitar to play. It is also a very well built guitar with an adjustable neck. When you play it, the strings are super easy to press and hold. It has a nice short action. If you get one you wont regret it.

Great guitar for anyone

By Sean Haulman

from Lebanon, PA

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AFS75T Electric Guitar:

This was my second guitar, and I got it when I was 16. 3 years have gone by since then, and it's still my main guitar. This guitar plays surprisingly well on an Overdrive channel, but playing it on a Clean channel is where it shines. Not only is the tone absolutely gorgeous, but it sits perfectly upon your lap if you're sitting down. It's pretty light, too, so you may even forget that you have a guitar dangling from your shoulders! She's a real beauty, too (I got her in the red color), and I doubt I'll ever get rid of her. Great guitar. It's almost not right to get a guitar this good for so cheap!

Amazing Guitar!

By Kenny

from Portland, OR

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AFS75T Electric Guitar:

My dad surprised me with this guitar for my birthday a few years ago, and let me just say that it has been my primary guitar since. I'm not much of a "gearhead" when it comes to guitars, so I didn't change anything on the guitar, but I don't feel I have or will ever need to. The tone is perfect, the feel is perfect, the pickups are perfect. Simply a perfect guitar.

Graet Guitar for the Money

By MusicMike

from Hollywood, CA

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AFS75T Electric Guitar:

I was in the market to add to my guitar collection and I stumbled upon a transparent red Artcore. I bought it on site. Great guitar with brilliant sound, if you can get over some fretboard issues (kinda sloppy if you ask me) but otherwise a great guitar for the price. Not slick looking enough (looks a bit cheap) for a pro, but great for a kid's first electric or for the casual hobbyist.

A Few Modifications = Excellent Guitar

By Lolli

from Pensacola

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AFS75T Electric Guitar:

I own this guitar and have been recording with it through my Toneport. The factory pickups were not quite what was desired, so they were changed out for Seymour Duncans. You can acheive a true clean tone on the neck pickup and the bridge gives all that can be desired when dialing in a crunchy rock sound. Very light weight and great looks. I have a little trouble keeping it in tune, but I think adding locking tuners should solve that problem. Overall, a great guitar for the money.

Simply Worth the Money

By MetalMan123

from NJ

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AFS75T Electric Guitar:

Saying it's a great guitar is very overstated. It's just an OK guitar. The sound is pretty good, has great looks, but the fret board is not good at all, in fact it's a little frustrating. Mine has a buzz, and doesn't keep in tune. The reason why it doesn't stay in tune is because of the vibrato, once you use it, forget about it. My advice? Buy one without the vibrato, and check the fretboard.

ARTCORE GALORE (went for the cheap rhyme)

By Blindedbychoice45

from SouthAMBOY, Nj

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AFS75T Electric Guitar:

Well this was my second guitar. And I've been usign it for two to three years now. It's incredible. It did have two problem, the inlays on the neck popped out. But the warrentee covered that. The only problem is that it gets a lot of unwanted feeback, leaving it a practice guitar. But it's still amazing, a beautiful piece of art and an amazing instrument. It's good for metal, punk, jazz, classic rock. You name it this thing plays it. If you're considering this guitar get it. All in all it's a great guitar for the money.

Great All-Around Guitar

By Matt

from Tolland, CT

Comments about Ibanez Artcore AFS75T Electric Guitar:

I've had this guitar for several years and still love it. I had ordered it in blue because I loved the color. While I was waiting for it to come in, they let me borrow a red one. While I love my blue beast, that red one played a bit better and sounded much better unplugged. I guess at this price the consistency between individual guitars is not very close. The guitar sounds great clean or with a little overdrive. I prefer my Les Paul for anything involving heavier distortion. The pickups sound sweet, but are not nearly as hot as the Les Paul. Switching between guitars during a set requires some creating effects looping or coordinating with the sound guy to adjust levels. I almost never use the bridge pickup because it's a bit thin. The neck pickup, though, is great for bluesy leads and expressive fills. Clean, the neck pickup takes on a very "round" and warm, almost acoustic vibe. Jazz chords sound great, especially up the neck. The action is high, but playable. No fret buzz on mine, either. As for the tremolo, I find it only so useful. It spends most of the time swiveled around facing the endpin. Not using it keeps the guitar in tune most of the time. I haven't had the issues with the tuners that others have had, but they certainly aren't as good as the Grovers on my Les Paul. Overall, I use it for softer songs that require a more subtle, sweeter sound. For the price, it is highly recommended.
