I love this guitar. I haven't had mine long, but just looking at it makes me want to play. It looks mean and sounds clean. It handles abuse well and can belt out good sound for a smooth blues tone. I was really surprised how it handles distortion and effects. As far as playing it, it gets even better. This sucker stays in tune after some real abuse. Notable facts for anyone interested in this guitar are minor. The neck is wide and the frets are just a tad big to start out with, but very easy to get used to. Finding a hard case has seemed a big problem. It has the dimensions(WxL) as a regular hollowbody but is much thinner and hard to size a case that is not made specifically for it. It was a little heavy at first, again it is easy to get used to. One last small thing, this sucker is hard to keep clean. It is still well worth the price for such a nice guitar.

Really like the looks of this awesome guitar, And wanted to buy it...Pulled it off the wall, we tuned it, I plugged it in and the G string has some SERIOUS issues. Axe specialist worked on it for an hour and got the harmonics set, but it still didn't sound right. Warning.. It looks great and will play.. but not Jazz...

WOW

By Jason Hoehne

from The Boro, TN

Had it for a year now. LOVE THIS GUITAR!!! Loaded it with some Rockfield SWC's (RIP Rockfield) and did this thing get mean. Out of the box it's stil amazing. Took it to a luthier and had it set up and tweaked and it turned into a rockin' machine. Wont use any other hollow body every again. Get this, worth the money ten fold.

Great Guitar

By Brandon

from arlington tx

I got this guitar for Christmas but was looking at buying it myself (thanks honey). This guitar is great at changing personalities. You can play super clean or really dirty and it just knows somehow. I'm not a real seasoned player, still consider myself a beginner. I was playing a Mexi Strat and loved but couldn't get the tone I wanted out of it all the time. This a great guitar the only toubles I've found are; No hardcases except by Ibanez, so I built one. I dont know if it's me or what but the guitar lets go of tune after about an hour of jamming with the guys.

Love this thing

By peter

from Boston MA

I was playing a tele but I was looking for something different. Played the gibson, gretsch, epi and ibanez semi's and I was willing to pay top dollar. But at the end of the day I went with the as73b with mods in mind. The quality on mine was top notch, tuners hold well and I love its simplicity. Chrome hardware is really nice looking. The frets are a nice size and were done very well at the factory and the neck thickness is perfect, very easy to move around and bends are easy. The initial set up was good but I had it set up by my guitar guy. I did change out the pickups as I do with all my guitars to GFS 59's in neck and bridge (such a great value give em a try) the original pickups were OK but not what i was searching for sound wise. This thing sounds so incredible through my blues JR. Also put in a bone nut to help sustain. For strings go with Daddario XL110 regular light. There is a white pin stripe around the guitar which looks nice. I was worried that the flat black would get dirty but that hasn't been the case at all. I play mainly blues and this thing kills. After all the work the guitar set me back five hundred and cant be touched by anything else. Not one single regret and it just looks so sexy. I play with a very seasoned friend and he was blown away by this thing, sounds great clean and dirty. I have been searching for a few years for my sound and I feel I have a great guitar and amp combo I'm finally happy with. i know its a cheap guitar but the build and play quality is so high give it a chance. Its a blues/rock machine.

versatile smoker

By Bill Carter

from Chicago, Il

I bought this guitar to replace my stolen AFS75 two years ago. I have not been dissapointed. this is my primary practice axe because I can work out unplugged but, it is awesome on stage as well. Everything that I can do with my Strat, I can do on this guitar. I get robust tones for smooth jazz pieces, the blues jams have punch and bite, and R&B and classic rock numbers come off smooth and sharp. I play a lot and have only had to periodically tighten the input jack and strap buttons. I have also found it to hold it's tuning despite my use of bends and vibrato. Try this guitar and you too will believe. I have played the Gibson semi hollows and a lot of true hollow bodies and think this one can hold it's own with them. I have let other guys play it and a couple have bought them. Great semi hollow at home and on stage.

Great Guitar!

By Bobby B.

from Nashville, NC

I bought this guitar about three weeks ago and I love it! The action is great and it sounds wonderful plugged into my Spider IV 15W. Even unplugged, the guitar has good sound. I actually caught this on sale in store for $289! It is well worth the money! Best of all, the flat black finish makes the guitar look more like a rock guitar than the traditional (old fashioned looking) hollow boddies. I played this guitar, a few traditional looking Ibanez hollow boddies and a couple Epiphones. The Ibanez won over Epiphone, hands down, in my opinion. I went with this one because it didn't have a floating bridge and I loved the look of the guitar. I would highly recommend this guitar to anyone looking for an entry level semi-hollow body.

Excellent for ANYONE!

By Khai123

from Fresno, California

This guitar was most likely my first nice electric guitar. I have many others, the crown jewel being a 1945 Gibson L-4. This was pitted against an Ibanez artcore AG175, this won hands down. I took this guitar home immeadiately, and I haven't regretted it. It handles sutain better than any other guitar I have ever played, (first nice one I've ever OWNED) It looked nice, the action was like butter, I was able to change strings in a jif, and the big finish It stays in tune BETTER than my vintage gibson!

Nearly perfect!

By Daniel Spaulding

from Franklin, TN

This guitar is great! I had been looking at all sorts of axes for months. I tried the really expensive Gibsons and Fenders and saw really nothing special. Then I tried this and it looked, felt, and sounded great. Bought it on the spot. Definite buy.

This is amazing

By Stasis of Seasons

from denver, co

This guitar is amazing. I am lead vocals and lead guitar in a band and got this basically as a second to my sg well the nut broke on my sg. I know its an easy fix but since getting this guitar I never played the sg in fact I loaned to sg to another band and they let me know the nut was broken so I allowed them to use my semi hollow for a show. Now every time they ask if they can use it.

Amazing

By brody starks

from Oklahoma

I first picked up this guitar because I was interested in a hollow body and also because it's my favorite color, flat black. The day I bought the guitar I had the stock pickups taken out and a pair of Gibson Burstbuckers put in. The guitar sounds amazing and plays great!
