Overview

Iron Label, the Ibanez made-for-metal series, continues its thunderous offensive on the metal guitar market as its single-cutaway down-tunable wonder, the ARZ, joins the Iron Label. The ARZ series features a sleek, single cutaway design, 24-fret, ultra-comfort set-in neck with smooth heel, designed for metal music. With a longer 25 scale length, the ARZ series was developed for down tuningand the Iron Label treatment.

The ARZIR20FB features a mahogany ARZ set-in mahogany neck, beautiful figured bubinga top/mahogany body, Jumbo frets, and the TOM bridge for superior intonation and sustain. Electronics include an EMG 60 pickup for a classic-thick, buttery tone and an EMG 81 for fluid sustain and blistering high-end that can cut through any mix. With a beautiful high gloss finish, bound ebony fingerboard, locking tuners, Pearl/ Abalone block inlays, and gold hardware, take the Iron Label series to a new level with a style of new elegance.

Comments about Ibanez ARZIR20FB Iron Label ARZ Series Electric Guitar:

Ok, take into account I play this guitar everyday. It was purchased specifically for playing shows.

Cons: 1)Medium frets take more finger pressure than what I normally like ie. jumbo frets. 2)The top is rounded and the volume-tone knobs (the lower bell portion) were scratching the finish. The pot posts are just plain too short. The holes for them are too small as well. 3) The finish on the plated gold saddle and bridge are already wearing off color where my palm rests. 4)The barrel jack (1/4" cord plugin) now has to be replaced. 5)The body edge binding (where you rest your forearm) is a little bit on the sharp edgy side. 6)The tuner posts are a little too short to get some good winds on the heavy strings. You'll get maybe 2 on the low E. 7)The strap button screw towards the front was loose when I got it. Had to tooth pic and glue. 8)Intonation was not set great upon arrival.

Pros: 1) Best set of pickups (stock) for a guitar these days in my humble opinion. Balanced, and a perfect opposition of tone from the emg81 and the emg61. Sounds huge. 2)"Old School" body style (ergonomic), is great for sitting down as well as standing. One of the only metal guitars built that way on the market right now. Makes it a bit heavy but also gives it a fuller tone. 3)Beautiful finish, which is actually more dark red than the picture. Very nice! Beautiful abalone and pearl inlays. Also the body is trimmed with abalone as well. 4)Sweet ebony finger board. 5)Decent action from the factory. 6) Good radius to the finger board. I usually like a flatter on, but this design works very well.

All and all a dream to play, and just incredible sound from this thing. But some of the poor design features are really annoying.
