I was walking through the guitar center where I live and playing all of the best guitars. I was playing thousand dollar Gibsons and Fenders. For some reason this guitar kept attracting my eye. After playing around with tons of different guitar, I eventually succumbed to my impulse to play and was stunned. it screamed when i turned up the distortion and still could keep a sweet acoustic sound. When I work up the money there is no doubt in my mind that I will buy this guitar. No Doubt. I would suggest this to anyone cant afford $1,000 worth of guitar

What a beautiful piece of ART!

By Rusty

from Fort Worth

Comments about Ibanez ART2EX1 Electric Guitar:

I received my ART2EX1 via UPS today, and i can only say...Sweet! I bought an ART100 a few months ago, and i was very pleased. So pleased that i bought another ART. Ive run into several people that want a second one. These guitars are probably the best bang for your buck anywhere. They have great action, awesome sound, and just kinda sexy ;) I would rate the guitar in general 9.5. If you're considering buying one, Id say go for it! You will not be disappointed! One thing I would note is that the pickups are the same as the art100 humbuckers, (not "traditional sounding single coils" like the written description states. You will love the rectangle neck inlays, the black chrome hardware, and the burst paintjob. Its apparently a guitar center online only edition. Google ART2EX1. Its a rare find. Order now!

CELESTIAL PROVIDENCE!

By Richard Hrub

from Joe, Montana

Comments about Ibanez ART2EX1 Electric Guitar:

At first sight of this instrument, I found myself wary. True its charming exterior caught my gaze from across the showroom, but, I would have never imagined such quality and playability would accessable at such a price range. Friends, I was heartily mistaken! Whence first I plugged this instrument in, for the time I understand what the ancient wrote of in their acclaimed fables. It was if the mighty titan Prometheus bestowed upon me a tool of immeasurable power, in direct defiance of Zeus, the Lord of Olympus. Thank you to all at Ibanez and Guitar Center for imbuing me with such a TONE MACHINE.

Amazing Guitar

By Matthew Mueller

from St. Paul

Comments about Ibanez ART2EX1 Electric Guitar:

I went into guitar center about three months ago to look at a Danelectro Dead On 67 and was at the register to have somebody pull one out of the back for me, when i saw this gem on the top of a row of amps. I immediately exited the line, and pulled it off the shelf to play it. i took it to a raven 60 watt (because thats what i play on) and was astounded by the rich tone, and especially the price. I went back to the counter and asked the man at the register for that instead. I have been playing it nearly non-stop since i bought it, in almost every genre, and have no complaints. Its an amazing guitar, and i wouldn't hesitate in buying it again. Its a beautiful guitar, and pictures just cant do it justice. the inlays are beautiful, especially the mother of pearl "artist" inlay at the top. wonderful looking, and sounding, no matter if your playing blues, or high gain metal.

A true winner!!!!!!

By STEVE POCHIE

from Hurst, Il.

Comments about Ibanez ART2EX1 Electric Guitar:

What a great playing & sounding guitar. This is one fine axe. This guitar is fab for playing metal to country. It sounds great with a mellow tone but really beefy when played thru a crunch or distortion setting. I am using a Line6 75 watt amp head with a Raven 4/12 cabinet & the complete combination is awesome. I highly recommend this guitar as well as the whole combination. You wont be sorry. The sounds are incredible and you can have endless variations. Also the 75watt head has more than enough puch to keep up with the bigger wattage type heads. All I can say is this is one amazing guitar.

Ibanez ART2EX1

By Andy

from Lapeer, MI

Comments about Ibanez ART2EX1 Electric Guitar:

Just like another review I was running around guitar center playing all kinds of high end guitars. And this one had my attention for some reason. When I finally broke down and played it, it played better than anything else I had tried. It just feels so good on your fingertips. You'd hav to play it because there aren't words to describe it. But it felt good enough that I'll have it off layaway next week. The week I put it on layaway I went to "The Used" concert and saw the guitar on stage.

Grabbed it, Played it, Payed for it and brought her home and Im writing this review after playing it for about 10 hours straight... An Expensive Beginners Guitar

By Seanshine

from Hollyspring, GA

Comments about Ibanez ART2EX1 Electric Guitar:

I wanted the Epiphone LP Custom Silverburst and tried to fake it with the Ibanez ART.. big mistake. If you've never seen this guitar in person and are buying it based on the looks from the photo, then don't buy it. It looks nothing like the photo provided by Guitar Center. It actually looks much cheaper in person. The paint job is very disappointing. It's more like a black guitar with a silver spot in the middle rather than a silver guitar with a black fade as the picture would suggest. The hardware is pretty sweet but it doesn't cover up the overall cheapness of the guitar (pick-ups/knobs). It didn't play too bad after a few adjustments and some new strings but it just didn't feel like the step up I was hoping for. So I took it back and got store credit towards the Epiphone LP Silverburst for $700. Best decision I ever made. Now that's a beautiful guitar. Plays like a dream and worth every penny.

Great guitar

By Neil Whitney

from New Prague, MN

Comments about Ibanez ART2EX1 Electric Guitar:

I just purchased this guitar today. The fit and finish of this guitar is very nice. It has a flawless finish and the hardware feels very soliid. I don't claim to be an expert, but it is very obvious that this is a quality rig. The solid mahogany body with the fixed neck makes for a sustain that just keeps going and going. It is truly awesome. I am looking forward to spending many hours playing this guitar.

Best singlecut/LP style under $400 hands down

By Brian R

from Tigard, OR

Comments about Ibanez ART2EX1 Electric Guitar:

This guitar is a full-blown Epiphone killer. Anybody looking at an Epi Les Paul Custom silverburst would do themselves a favor and try this goregous guitar. Save yourself $300 because this guitar is far superior. The neck is chunky yet comfortable, the body is nicely contoured and surprisingly light. The action on my guitar needed to be raised a bit and I set it up with Dunlop .010s in standard tuning and thanks to the Gibraltar bridge and solid tuning machines, she stays in tune very well through a whole practice or show. The Gibraltar is one of my fave features of the guitar as it makes palm muted riffing very comfortable. I love the quick change tailpiece as it saves so much time for string changes. I love the finish and get compliments on it all the time. The depth of the silverburst is so much nicer than the flat looking Epi. I'm also really impressed with the stock electronics. The 3-way switch is super solid, the pots are quiet and smooth, and the stock pickups are pretty good. I'll eventually put a set of Duncans in it, but it sounds smokin' hot through my 6505+. I'd compare it the PRS SE line in tone and feel, except I like it a bit better. Overall, this guitar is a steal for intermediate players and with a few mods and a good setup, you've got a gorgeous pro axe under $600. I'm thinking about purchasing another ART model. Bravo Ibanez.

For the cost, a very, very nice guitar

By Morgan

from Jacksonville, FL

Comments about Ibanez ART2EX1 Electric Guitar:

I bought one of these from my local GC yesterday and have played it nearly non-stop. For the money, this is a surprisingly nice guitar. Is it going to beat out an authentic Gibson Les Paul or Paul Reed Smith? No. But this has pretty decent quality going for it. Playing through a Peavey 3120 & 4x12: The mahogany body & set-in neck provide a nice warm tone. The tuners aren't bad - no slippage or going out of tune - and the nut is set very well for the neck even for alternate tunings (Drop D, etc) with no strings buzzing against the frets. It's got great sustain and the action on the neck is very friendly. The metallic silver sunburst is very easy on the eyes. The bridge is very easy to palm-mute heavy rythms. But more than anything else, I was really impressed with the stock pick-ups. They're not Seymour Duncans, but they can go from a nice edgey, crunch to glassy, warm cleans like a Duncan. Plus, they are very quiet - no background noise, hiss or hum. Eventually I will upgrade the tuners & pickups, but until then this was definately $400 well spent.

Great Guitar for Beginners

By Joseph

from Hanover Park, IL

Comments about Ibanez ART2EX1 Electric Guitar:

I bought the guitar for my son who wanted a "silverburst Les Paul" type guitar. It plays so well. It is lighter and more comfortable than a Les Paul. The back is curved so it fits your ribcage really well. The guitar really stays in tune for a long time--new for us. The paint job is excellent. Tough to find a better looking guitar at this price range.

Amazing Long-Lasting Guitar

By Zack

from Oregon

Comments about Ibanez ART2EX1 Electric Guitar:

I've purchased this guitar around 2 years ago and i must say its an amazing instrument. It's lasted this long and i plan to continue to use it until i can purchase a different guitar. The neck is easy to slide around for different riffs, just remember to change the strings right after you buy it. It is a high quality instrument-especially for how much you're paying for it. The only problem I've had so far is the screw for the guitar strap got de-threaded but that was an easy fix. In all, the guitar is an amazing piece of work by Ibanez and is very much worth what you pay for it.

A great guitar for beginners to advanced players

By Kyle Gouge

from Ozark, Al

Comments about Ibanez ART2EX1 Electric Guitar:

The quality on this guitar is great. I bought it about 6 months back and i love it. the guitar is light and comfortable unlike a les paul. the pickups are very nice and you can play just about any time of music on this guitar unless you are looking for something that is completely clean. most of the time when ppl look at lower priced ibanez guitars they say "ok its cheaper so the tone is going to be muddy". i can say this guitars pickups and tone is very smooth and clean with a little bit of a heavy tone to it. the finish looks amazing with the silver sparkle and the deep black. definately a guitar worth buying. when you see it online it looks nice, however when you buy it and actually see one, there is no comparison. the paint looks so much better in person..the only problem i see with this guitar is that the pots werent positioned perfectly when the guitar was wired so you can see beside the volume and tone knops just a little bit. but its not a big enough space to make a problem. THIS IS A GREAT GUITAR. 5 STAR FOR SURE!
