My Dream Guitar

By Berwanger

from Stratham, NH

Comments about Ibanez AES20E Acoustic-Electric Guitar with Onboard Tuner:

I've been sniffing around for a quality all-wood guitar for several months, and I landed on this Ibanez AES20E. I was seriously looking at a Martin, but I'm glad I chose this one. It doesn't have the biggest sound unplugged, but the tone is amazing. It's nice and thin with a skinny neck that is perfect to wrap my thumb around when necessary. It is one of the most comfortable guitars I've ever played. I also just purchased the SKB Deluxe Thin-Line Acoustic Electric hard case, and it fits this guitar perfectly. I am very happy with this guitar ... from the way it looks to the way it plays. For the money, I haven't found anything better.

Distinctive Look, OK Sound

By anoldguy

from Lakewood, CO

Comments about Ibanez AES20E Acoustic-Electric Guitar with Onboard Tuner:

I've been playing for decades, and have had my Ibanez AES20E for a couple years now. It looks fabulous. The diamond-shaped sound hole is distinctive, the inlays, especially on the fretboard, are very well done, and I remain especially impressed by the quality of the paint job. I bought it as a "scratch 'n dent" item for a discounted price, probably a return, but except for a small flaw in the paint where the neck joins the upper bout, it's a real beauty, front, back and sides. When I got it, the neck was something of a disaster in terms of playability, with a dead spot at the 13th fret, some rough fret ends, and a definite bow. A local luthier fixed it right up, and with dressed frets, the dead spot taken care of, and some neck adjustment, it's really fun to play. It has the smallest body of any of my acoustic-electrics, and is very comfortable and easy to play in part because of its small size. The neck is thin enough to move up and down the fretboard easily, and I've had the action set up at a sort of "medium" height which suits me fine. Onboard electronics work very well. The onboard tuner is accurate and easy to use, and the AA batteries last a very long time. I like the tone pretty much as-is̴_ۡ I play it as a straight acoustic about 60% of the time ۡ so I've not messed around with the EQ settings very much. The Fishman pickup is excellent. To my ear, this small-bodied beauty sounds a little better plugged in than it does as a straight-up acoustic. The small, relatively shallow body that makes it so comfortable to play also makes its sound a little thin without amplification, and there's not a lot of projection. Compared to high-end guitars, the tone is mediocre, but the AES20E isn't a high-end guitar (Check that price again!), and the sound is pleasant enough, and quite serviceable. The AES20E is so comfortable to play that it's my #2 instrument of 5. It stays in tune reliably, has been rugged and dependable, and once I had the kinks worked out of it after arrival, it's never given me another reason to take it back to the luthier. This is no Martin, but a lot of us can't afford a Martin, and this guitar is a fine value for the money.

My First Guitar

By Sko

from SEattle

Comments about Ibanez AES20E Acoustic-Electric Guitar with Onboard Tuner:

This was my first guitar, I got it because my Dad likes acoustic folk & suck, while I like metal. SO I had to get an acoustic. This was the coolest acoustic I had ever seen, the sharp cutaway, diamonds, and sound hole make it look very unique. Good sound unplugged or hooked up to an amp.

Comments about Ibanez AES20E Acoustic-Electric Guitar with Onboard Tuner:

The Ibanez AE20E is an outstanding guitar. The shape is beautiful and it sounds even better. Everyone who has seen this guitar has commented on the diamond sound hole which makes it very distinctive from any other guitar I've ever seen. The onboard works great. I dont have an amp yet but this thing really bellows when its plugged in. i cant wait to get one. Sounds great on a Case acoustic amp. For the looks, price, and sound you cant go wrong with this guitar and you wont get tired of the compliments.

A Work of Art, Both Musically and Visually

By Ace2007

from New York, NY

Comments about Ibanez AES20E Acoustic-Electric Guitar with Onboard Tuner:

This Ibanez AES10E is one beautiful electric acoustic guitar and belies its very reasonable price. From its exotic, warm ash woodgrain (the amber is the go) to the superb finish from all angles, this Ibie is an instrument that makes a wonderful impression, even when resting on its stand. The action is low, the neck smooth, the uper frets accessible, and the tone rich and full throughout the entire range. Add an amp and you are ready for the road. Or you can entertain your friends after dinner around a fire to match the warmth of this axe and send them home in love with the art of the steel string acoustic all over again. Definitely recommmened for all levels of ability. Ibanez hard shellcase AC100E fits this mini-jumbo perfectly. Avoid standard size cases - the body, especially below the waist, is wiiiiider than most. Yet it is by no means bulky and is very comfortable to hold. The full sound is remarkable considering its slim profile. Why wait? It may not be repeated.

Super deal

By cgmxtreme70

from Detroit, MI

Comments about Ibanez AES20E Acoustic-Electric Guitar with Onboard Tuner:

I have only been playing for about 6 months but have been around bands and guitar players for years. I had a cheap acoustic but wanted an acoustic-electric and couldn't afford a Martin, Taylor, etc. I picked up several guitars, some much higher priced than this one but as soon as I picked this one up, I knew I had THE ONE!! Great sound, thin body for those of us who are horizontally blessed, and having the on-board tuner if you haven't quite mastered tuning by ear. I absolutely love this guitar and actually prefer it's sound to most of the $1000 guitars they had. A great value on an awesome guitar!!!

This is my best guitar

By 6-stringgirl

from Tennessee

Comments about Ibanez AES20E Acoustic-Electric Guitar with Onboard Tuner:

I have many guitars, many acoustic-electrics, in fact, and this is by far the best I've got. I love the style of this guitar. The inlays are gorgeous, and the body style is nice and comfortable for playing. The action is nice and low, and the neck plays easily! It sounds great amplified, distorted or not. The onboard tuner is very helpful and extremely accurate. It's great! This is an awesome guitar - a great buy for the price! I, personally, think this guitar should be more expensive. I'm never getting rid of this guitar!
