Overview

If you're on the move and still love to groove, the short scale AEG240 is an excellent choice with its 60/70mm body depth and single cutaway design, making it easier to play than larger, deeper models and more feedback resistant. On its own, with its mahogany body, sides and neck as well as a rosewood fingerboard, the AEG240 is a rock-solid acoustic that'll provide years of entertainment.

It also comes with a Fishman Sonicore pickup and preamp with rotary volume and tone controls to help you shape and ampliy your sound in live situations. But what really separates this guitar from other acoustic-electrics out there is a USB connection which allows you to record straight to your computer recording program with string-to-string clarity. This brings a whole new meaning to the term plug-and-play. Case sold separately.

strings buzz

By Yaakov

from west hartford conneticut

Comments about Ibanez AEG240 Thinline Recording Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I had my eye on this one for a while, but when I went to GC to try it out, they had none in stock, so I ordered it, and at first loved it, the usb connection was sweet and not bad quality at all, the action was good, the sound unplugged could've been better, but... after a few days of playing it, I started to notice a buzz on the 4th string (D) and realized the string was touching the next two frets below it, I figured I'd take it back and have them shave down the fret a bit... but then after some more playing I realized the low E string would buzz on the first couple of frets and the A string would too. So now I decide that spending $400 on an acoustic guitar that buzzes, is just not worth it, that is something you get when you spend about a hundred or so. I plan to take it back and look at some Dean guitars cause they're awesome.

SA-WEET!

By MICHAEL

Comments about Ibanez AEG240 Thinline Recording Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I picked this up (in red) 2 months ago. AMAZED and the tone and sound that comes from such a light weight guitar! Two different friends have played mine and both are amazed at the sound. I went on vacation last month to Nashville and Bowling Green and this was the guitar I brought with me to be at my bedside each night in hotels and play with my grandson and my daughter. I will always own one of these! I just sent a message to see what factory strings are put on this guitar to make sure when I change them, I keep it original. Thank you Joe, at the GC in Clearwater Florida for making me hold this gem! Love !

Bright, happy sound

By Puneet Lakhi

from Scarsdale, ny

Comments about Ibanez AEG240 Thinline Recording Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Tried this out in the store and no other guitar in the price range compared, it just looked amazing and sounded great as well. i kept coming back to this one. I love the red color its just so different and unique. The guitar is extremely light compared to my other yamaha folk sized guitar. It sounds great plugged into my amp and using the usb chord to record is a breeze although i havent used it much. The action is very low making it easy on the fingers, but the low e has a bit of a buzz when strumming hard. Not sure if that can be adjusted or if thats just unavoidable with action this low.
