Comments about Ibanez AEG12II-NT Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I've been playing guitar now for several years, and I regularly play a Taylor 324ce, Which has an outstanding tone, but a hefty price tag to go along with it. I bought this Ibanez Electric Acoustic for my Niece as a birthday present, and I was absolutely blown away with what I got for the price. It looks good, feels good, sounds good. It stays in tune well, and with a good set of Elixir strings it plays like a dream. Definitely a great guitar to get someone who's adamant about learning. The only Con I could find was the smaller sound that is produced and lack of prominent bass, probably because it's a smaller body. But, it has an electric pickup inside that allows easy amplification of the sound and EQ, so it's not a problem in the long run.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone who's looking for a guitar that is fairly inexpensive with a sound that out preforms more expensive models.

Comments about Ibanez AEG12II-NT Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I very played electric exclusively so when I shopped for an A/E, playability was at the top of my checklist.I played about a dozen others but bought the AEG1211. The finish looks a thousand times better in person. Very lightweight and sounds really nice UNplugged. Above all, the neck feels like an electric and I could actually play lead on this one! The action is low but I had to have the saddle piece worked over to really get it right for me. I'm keeping this one!

Comments about Ibanez AEG12II-NT Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have been performing in a wide variety of venues for almost fifty years from street corners to concert halls and have owned (and still do own) quite an arsenal of instruments, One thing I've learned, as a player, is that it is not the name on the headstock or the price that really matters but the quality of the sound you are making. This little box fills a niche for me that helps to create some great sound for my audiences. I have a maple body and top acoustic/electric, a spruce top/mahogany body A/E and now this all mahogany A/E. The maple gives me brightness, the spruce a mid-rangy balance and my new little beauty has an intimate warmth that can fill a hall! I found something I'd been missing. Not to mention the startlingly low price! I played many instruments at the Sioux Falls store and this was the one that pushed all the buttons and rang all the bells.
I run my instruments through either a Fishman Artist or an ancient Peavy Ecoustic 112 and then through the PA. The AEG 12 II NMH really blossoms when plugged in. The sound is warm and balanced when unplugged but not loud. This is to be expected as it is a thin body.
Another thing I'd like to mention is the light weight and fast action. After playing as much as four/five one-hour sets my shoulder does not feel as if I've been toting 100# bags of sand.
As I said before "it ain't the name on the headstock or the price---it's the sound that matters." If you are a true working musician though you probably already know this.
YES I would recommend this to a working musician or dedicated beginner.

Comments about Ibanez AEG12II-NT Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Ok the stock strings that come with it are (fill in the blank) they would not stay tuned and were very rough and lumpy, I changed them out with Martin bronze with much improvement. I still have not got it set up yet it needs a little work on the nut but it is very playable. The fret work has some very sharp edges, and needs be very carefully taken care of. Tone quality is excellent, very rich and pleasing.
Would like readers to keep in mind that the cons can be taken care of, and for the price it is an excellent buy.

Comments about Ibanez AEG12II-NT Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I am really pleased with this guitar. I would have thought I would have to had spend hundreds of dollars more to get the clean crisp sound that this guitar delivers. I have had it for a month now and it gets played daily. The built in tuner is great, and a great feature. This is a great guitar.
