Though not very loud, this guitar sings with a sweet natural tone that is best when amplified. Whether plugged into an acoustic guitar amp, electric guitar amp, PA system, or recording channel it is easy to acheive many great sounds directly from the guitar. The 3-Band EQ, Shape contour, chromatic tuner, volume control, and phase switch combined with a Fishman pickup are probably worth the total price of this extremely playable guitar. The body and neck are both slimmer than most classical designs and are joined at the 14th fret with a cutaway that allows easy playing up to the 21st. None of the 21 frets are marked giving the neck a very smooth appearance while the rest of the guitar is adorned with color and gloss. Both neck and body are edged with white and black binding and are dark mahogany while the top is spruce with abalone around the sound hole and a stunning tangerine finish. Gold classical tuners and dual outputs, one 1/4 in. and one XLR, also help make this unique guitar stand out as a great value. Requires two AAA bateries.

Called ahead to come pick this bad boy up... Get there and turns out that there floor model was damaged from air temperatures..... So I wait another week while they order me a new one and they open it up in-front of me and Im like sweet!!! put it in the case and go home... I get home and im inspecting its beauty only to find that there is black marks underneaith the frets on about 4 of them... Almost looks like a sharpie scribbled in on it... So I called the store and told them the story and said i'm bringing it back to return it, can you order me another one so I dont have to wait another week or so.... They told me unless I wanted to pay for it right now then no they cant... even though there floor model is junk as well.... Looks like im gonna have to wait even longer...

AMAZING!!!

Comments about Ibanez AEG10NE Nylon String Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I too played every guitar in the room, BY FAR the best feeling and sounding guitar in the room. I honestly thought it was mispriced. The way it felt and sounded especially when plugged in, was incomparable even by the higher priced guitars. Built in Tuner, phase button, equalizer, XLR and 1/4 inch plug-ins. ***** stars

Comments about Ibanez AEG10NE Nylon String Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I teach guitar at Eastside High School and these guitars are perfect for my students. The ability to switch from acoustic to electric is an incredible advantage. The guitar sounds great and the value is excellent.

Excellent value

By MarkEMark

Comments about Ibanez AEG10NE Nylon String Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Recently purchased from local Guitar Center store. Played it and several more expensive classical guitars -- the Ibanez was as easy to play and sounds just as good as the other shallow classicals. It sounds ok (but not wonderful) when not plugged in, but plugged in even to a regular electrical guitar amp it sounds full and deep. The onboard equalizer and shape-shifer make a big difference. I especially like the narrower neck that "true" classicals which is easier for me to play. The tangerine top color is very interesting and different.

Its Great!

Comments about Ibanez AEG10NE Nylon String Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This guitar is beautiful.. Not only is it a looker but it also sounds great. Its a shallow body so its not very loud but the sound it does produce is excellent. Plugged in this guitar really sings.. With all the feature you cant go wrong. The neck is smaller than a normal classical making it easier to play. It holds its own with the more expensive classicals. Its a good buy. I love it.

great guitar!

Comments about Ibanez AEG10NE Nylon String Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is a very excellent guitar to own if your wanting to play a nylon string guitar. its smaller neck is ideal if your used to playing a steel sring and want to convert over. if you buy the traditional wide neck classical you will find you will have great difficulty adjusting your fingers to play a chord...believe me I tried while I was at the store...chords were difficult to play to me on a wide neck. If it wasnt for IBANEZ and this model I would have not purchased a nylon string, due to the wide necks!! I highley recomend this guitar, it sounds great, but the 5th and 5th string has a "twangy" sound that I dont like, but I found that if you adjust the bass settings on your amp you can eleminate most of it. it doesnt sound like a $900 classical but I like it none the less. its very easy to play, and you will not be dissapointed!so once again if you currently play a standard steel string it will be easy to cross over to nylon with this model due to the smaller neck design! 4.5 stars!!

Comfortable guitar

By CB

Comments about Ibanez AEG10NE Nylon String Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I've owned this guitar for 3 months. Sounded awesome right out of the box. Light weight design makes it easy to hold and the thin neck allows for easier fret movement. Unplugged the guitar is not very full sounding due to slim body style, but plugged in the preamp creates an amazing sound quality. Great for beginner or expert.

Very nice guitar

By Northern Player

Comments about Ibanez AEG10NE Nylon String Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This guitar was picker out online before I got to the store. It is nice and light and easy to pick up and carry around. The action is excellent and it is easy to play. I have played it mostly in the hotel room and the sound is excellent. It stays in tune and the onboard tuner is a must to have. I have not yet plugged it in but that may result in another review. The neck is more like a regular acoustic. I bought the guitar for dragging to the beach this summer so I would not have to take my expensive Epiphone masterbuilt and get it full of sand. Now I am not so sure! This is maybe too nice for that. There are no flaws in the instrument. A roadrunner case made it a nice package. This is nice for just sitting back and plunking away on a nice evening when the midnight sun is still bright. I would reccommend this very highly. Once I plug it in, I may have to write another review.

Beautiful

By Luke DiFalco

Comments about Ibanez AEG10NE Nylon String Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This Ibanez is one of the best guitars I've ever held. The sound is beautiful and rich with tone, and it looks beautiful too, which helps. Definately go for the Tangerine color, soo beautiful. I love the built in tuner, it helps lazy people like me. This guitar has helped spread my music knowledge into classical and jazz. This is a must buy for all classical players. Good job Ibanez!

Sweet Rich Sound

By tailgunr

from Bakersfield, CA

Comments about Ibanez AEG10NE Nylon String Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

It cost's how much??? Such a deal for what you get! Musical instruments are made for a player to achieve their "sound" and this guitar does that and then some. While shopping for an electric guitar I stepped into the acoustic room just because, and pulled this guitar off the wall on a whim. WOW! The tone through a small acoustic amp was amazing. I normally play a high-end acoustic/electric that starts with a "T" and this guitar rivals it in tone and ease of play! For hundreds less! The first night at practice, a vocalist commented how "rich and full" my guitar sounded, not realizing I was playing a different guitar than my "T". Fit and finish was excellent. Action height was a little high, but acceptable and easily played. The 1/4" and XLR outputs offer versatile use through an amp or direct box into the sound system. Did I mention the sweet, rich sound? Again, for the price, you can't go wrong.
