Comments about Ibanez AEG10II Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Sad to say, but some of the best guitars in the world are coming out of Indonesia...and this guitar does not disappoint. The next higher model (exotic wood version) is only marginally more pleasing to the ear. I have been playing for 35+ years and know a nice guitar when I play one. This guitar is excellent in all areas. Excellent craftsmanship. Decent electronics, with a 3 band EQ (love the built in tuner that mutes while tuning). The flat paint finish on the back of the neck is amazing. This guitar stays in tune like you wouldn't believe. What a nice guitar for this price range. Intonation is perfect, action is amazingly low...can't think of anything bad to say.

Comments about Ibanez AEG10II Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

When looking for an acoustic/electric guitar I read a ton of customer reviews so I feel like I have to write my own regarding this black Ibanez AEG-I0II to help other customers. By no means am I a guitar aficionado, but this guitar has really surprised me. I have been a recording engineer and an on and off musician for 20 years. This is the first acoustic/electric I have ever bought and I made sure to do my research (and read the reviews) to figure out which guitar to buy that was in my price range. The guitar was shipped fast, even with standard shipping and was quite protected in two cardboard boxes. The black finish looked great and only needed to be tuned using the onboard tuner. For the first week I transported it in it's original box and this guitar stayed in tune! At this point I figured I needed to buy a gig bag for it to protect it a little better. The custom hard cases that fit this guitar are a little steep for me, but I am pretty good at taking care of my stuff.

One of my students plays a Takamine and we have both been jamming at the after school program I work for. In comparison, the Takamine has a deeper, fuller tone, whereas my Ibanez is a little shallower because it is a thinline. However, the electronics (EQ) in the Ibanez are better. The neck fits my smaller hands and the guitar plays quite well. There isn't any string buzz, but with a capo on the second fret, the low E vibrates the B string when played open. I'm sure it's a frequency thing, but it doesn't really bother me too much. I do like the way the guitar is set up out of the box and it plays well and sounds good, so why mess with it. I hooked it up through a Nady direct box into our PA and with a little EQ I got it sounding the way I wanted it. I haven't put it through an amp though.

Overall, I am very happy with this guitar and as long as the quality stays the same, I would recommend it to anyone in the market for a nice thinline acoustic/electric.

took this instrument out of the shipping carton. tuned it up and started playing. no adjustmeents required at all. be aware the sound quality is not real robust due to this giutar not being a big, full bodied instrument however it is well balanced in tonal quality. intonation is excellent all over the neck.

Comments about Ibanez AEG10II Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I'm a player of 20 years whom 2 years ago came down with MS. This unfortunately has led to weakness and loss of control of my left hand (fret board hand). I was about to call it quits as the acoustics I owned had high action and became impossible to play. Then I found the AEG 10 II and it's super low action. Almost felt like I was playing an electric. So soft and playable I could not believe it. I strung with Martin Silk and Steel and made it even softer if that was possible. I've had it for a year now and not a day has gone by that I have not played this guitar either acoustic or thru my PA which sounds perfect. Not to sound cheesy or dramatic, but this guitar saved my playing career. It re-energized me and I've since ran down to my local GC and added a couple electrics to my collectoin and Amps. And now have a music studio man cave in my house any player would be proud to let the hours fly by in. I am being dead serious, this guitar was the catalyst that gave me hope when I was frustrated and ready to call it quits. It has become more than just a hobby now, it is my physical therapy preserving the usage and dexterity of my left hand and fingers. On a happier note, the finish is brilliant, and when polished, shines as bright as any guitar I've ever owned. The onboard tuner is killer and right on the money. I absolutely recommend the AEG 10 II to players of all skill level for hobbist playing or live performing. I love it.

This is my first guitar, and I have been playing it for about 8 months. I still have not changed the strings, and there is really no buzzing/ the strings are not rusty at all. I am changing them very soon though. This guitar can get classical to soft/classic rock without even being plugged in! It sounds beautiful with or without a capo, AND sounds neat plugged in! The size is perfect for anyone because it is very comfortable. I highly recommend this guitar to any level player!
