I bought one of these from Guitar Center awhile back. I loved it right away for its perfect action, easy play, mellow amplified sound, good electronics, beautiful styling. Admittedly there were a few problems -- loose wires inside, rough frets. Must have been an early model. These things were fixable. I was so happy with the guitar I bought a second one for my girlfriend about a year later. The second had no problems at all. It is a spectacular instrument all around -- good unamplified tone (much better than the first), fabulous sound amplified, and better electronics. I tell my friends that playing this thing is a silky smooth experience, a real pleasure, like driving a cadillac. I love it!

It looks good, but it fails as an acoustic guitar. The sound just isn't satisfying or impressive at all since the body is so thin. Unless you're going to always be playing with an amp, you should find an acoustic electric with a dreadnought body instead, it's more versatile.

great guitar

Comments about Ibanez AEG10E Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I bought this giutar 3 yrs. ago, and i can't put it down. This guitar feels "oh so right" in your hands and plays like a dream. The onboard electronics are great and have never failed, and believe me this unit takes alot of abuse. 30 year musicians can't believe how great this thing sounds onstage and unplugged. Great guitar for beginners and pros!

Great guitar for the money

By Songwriter99

from Fresno, CA

Comments about Ibanez AEG10E Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Wife wanted a guitar so she picked this one out. It's thin, easy to play, sounds good for a laminate top, and looks cool. The built-in tuner is very accurate and the pickup sounds better than you'd think.

By IbanezChick

Comments about Ibanez AEG10E Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I just got the Ibanez AEG10E and I couldn't be more pleased. It has a great sound when not amplified, and when amplified sounds terric. The onboard tuner is so helpful as well. I couldn't be happier with the choice of guitar. Plays beautifully and works terrific.

Great Guitar!

By Jay G

from Manchester CT

Comments about Ibanez AEG10E Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

So I've had this guitar for a month so far. Here's what I can say. This guitar is simply amazing for it's low price. The pick ups sound great and sound quality is good. there are some loose wiring inside but it's not a problem and when you reach over the guitar you could accidentally change settings on the control panel. On the other hand...The gloss black finish It has is beautiful but it could get fingerprints easily and the white binding is nice too. The action on it is also good as well. There are also 2 different types inputs so this guitar can plug into a standard guitar amp and a microphone type amp which is quite useful. The onboard tuner is really good too and the built in Phase effect is nice. Overall this guitar is a great guitar for a great price. would definitely reccomend this to others.

There's Better Out There

By LesPaulDude440

from Mechanicsburg, PA

Comments about Ibanez AEG10E Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I played this guitar at my buddy's house, he just bought one about 2 months ago. As far as acoustic-electrics go, this is pretty nice due to the price tag. It sounds mediocre when plugged in, but when not amplified sounds horrific. It has absolutely no depth to it whatsoever, I suppose since it doesn't have a solid top. If you really are dying to get an acoustic-electric with good ELECTRONICS, for a good price, go with this. If you would rather have a rich, full, and nice sounding acoustic guitar without electronics, go with something with a solid top, like a yamaha FG series guitar. Even though they have no electronics, it is a much much better sounding guitar.

Love it, but wish the pickups were replaceable

By Senny

from Harrisburg, PA

Comments about Ibanez AEG10E Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

My guitar has a great tone and a great feel. I was impressed that such a small body could produce such a quality tone. Unfortunately, the piezo went bad. I learned that the Sonicore pickup is basically a custom part that is not simply replaceable. If not for the problem with the pickup, I'd give it 5 stars.

I got this for Christmas a couple years ago and i fell in love with it the day it arrived at my door. I've never felt more comfortable playing an acoustic than i do when I play this one. If you're on a low budget but want a good acoustic then try this one out

Great playability, sound, and value

By RIX

from Sacramento, CA

Comments about Ibanez AEG10E Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I originally learned to play guitar on a dreadnought guitar and played that same guitar for years. One day I wondered into a music store and saw this guitar for the first time and decided to give it a try. Besides the great looks; right away I could feel the difference. The slimmer body and neck was just a better fit for me. I didnۡt hesitate; I bought the guitar that day. After about a week of playing it I found that my playing improved. The over all size and setup were just a better fit for me. Yes it doesnۡt have that deep tone of my dreadnought, but the playability makes up for that. I really like the on-board tuner and the controls allow you to adjust the tones you want when playing trough an amp. Since then I have tried other guitars, but I always go back to this one.

Great Value

By Zar Mulix

from New York, NY

Comments about Ibanez AEG10E Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This guitar is great not only for its price, but because it has a nice warm sound. This guitar is comfortable to play with a smooth fretboard and a nice looking body. I picked it up thinking it was an acoustic, but when i saw the onboard tuner i was amazed that it could be amplified as well as sounding as good as any other acoustic guitar I have played.

Too thin.

By Vincent

from CA

Comments about Ibanez AEG10E Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

It looks good, but it fails as an acoustic guitar. The sound just isn't satisfying or impressive at all since the body is so thin. Unless you're going to always be playing with an amp, you should find an acoustic electric with a dreadnought body instead, it's more versatile.

OK, great for price

By AJ

Comments about Ibanez AEG10E Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Its a great guitar. The body is thin and there is two different jacks to plug in the guitar (Quarter inch, XLR)It also stays in tune for a long time. However, the guitar quality is somewhat dull and without an amp the guitar sounds very choppy.

Amazing

By Lee B

from Charlotte, NC

Comments about Ibanez AEG10E Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I got this about a year ago and have been VERY happy with it. I've been playing about four years and started on a big acoustic guitar and when I got this I could learn so many more things. It sounds amazing on just about anything you want to play. You can sound great just playing chords, and barre chords are pretty easy on it compared to many other guitars. I love Avenged Sevenfold, and I can play some of their solos better on this guitar than on my brother's Les Paul. I love being able to switch between just chords and then a solo. I highly recommend this guitar to anyone playing any style! I can play what ever style I want on this which makes it a wonderful guitar! It has been very reliable and apart from a wire loose in it (it doesn't do anything to the sound quality, just if you shake it you hear it) nothing is a problem. I really like the tuner on this guitar. I've seen some different tuners on other guitars and haven't liked them much, but I really love this one. I love EVERYTHING about this guitar!

A Sweet Deal!

By Malruhn

from Montgomery, AL

Comments about Ibanez AEG10E Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

After playing classic guitar for almost 30 years, I've moved into classic rock (playing backup in a garage band), and the AEG10E was recommended by a good friend. The neck is relatively broad, and the strings are low-strung, so it is VERY easy to play. The sound is pure and resonates very well. On top of all of this is the price... and this makes this one VERY sweet deal!! A TOP recommendation!! Even for beginning players, yes, it's a little pricey, but WELL worth it!! If they continue, there will be no need to upgrade - this is a great starter, and performer. You won't be disappointed.

GREAT BANG FOR THE BUCK

By Dan

from Michigan

Comments about Ibanez AEG10E Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar about a month ago. I went in to specifically look at a different brand but when I didn't like that one the sales rep handed me this one. WOW!!! Then I tried a few others and kept coming back to this guitar. It sounded so good I had to buy it. When I got home I plugged in into the amp I use and it was still just as great! The only thing I changed was the strings. I prefer elixers. If you are looking for a accoustic/electric at an unbeatable price, buy this guitar, you will not be unhappy!

great guitar

By Aj

from laurens sc

Comments about Ibanez AEG10E Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

i got this guitar a couple years ago for christmas, beside my first act, it was my first real guitar, i learned every thing on it, its a great investment, cheap and durable, i got the black one and every one i know wants it, but im not stupid enough to sell. it has a full thick tone to it, acoustic it sounds pretty good, but sounds best plugged in. i suggest putting some brass bridge pins on it though. it plays pretty easy too, but bends are a little tough, bottom line, i love it and i would strongly recommend this guitar to any musician of any level
