This is an awesome looking guitar!!!! The only problem is on the higher frets there is a horrible buzzing that's hard not to notice, so this would make a great beginner guitar but for more advanced players, you probably wont like it unless you can get rid of the buzzing, it is pretty bad!!! This guitar however does have a very nice sound to it besides the buzz!!!

Not bad

By HotRod

from Selinsgrove, PA

Pros

  • Playbility Looks

Cons

  • Thin-line Sound

Best Uses

  • Plugged In

Comments about Ibanez AEF30E Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is a nice, solid constructed guitar that's geared more towards electric players looking for a suitable acoustic. The fretboard is very flat which I happen to like. The action on mine came a tad high but not bad, still playable and easy fix if I want to. As for the sound, well this is thin-bodied guitar that is all laminated maple. It doesn't sound bad by any means but you gotta keep your expectations real. It isn't going to have the richness or volume as a regular width dreadnaught with a solid top when played unplugged, plus maple isn't the best tonewood to begin with. Where it really lacks is in bass(has very little). The reviewers that say that this guitar sounds better than a Martin or Taylor, hmmm just gotta scratch my head on that. I have the trans-black and it's a beautiful guitar. With the unique flamed-maple and gold hardware, it's the coolest looking guitar I own. That and the fact that I like the feel of it, is why I probably won't sell it. For the price, this is solid investment if you play primarily plugged in, but for pure acoustics there's many solid top dreads and GA's in this price range that will blow this guitar away in acoustic sound. Oh yeah, the tuners on this guitar are surprisingly good for just regular die-cast tuners.

I have not played in years and bought this for myself to pick it up again. Great time and the tuner works great. The cut away body was just what I wanted.

Awesome guitar at a great price

      By Pete

      from Boca Raton, Florida

Comments about Ibanez AEF30E Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

First off, to hear this guitar in action go to my latest Youtube song/video called "Progression of Winds". I really thought I wanted an Ovation and I played ten of them before trying out this guitar. The Ovations sounded so flat next to this one, almost dead in tone without amplification. More importantly, it played more like an electric than an acoustic. I couldn't believe I could get this guitar for around $350. Plugged in the special EQ gives endless tonal possibilities. I can't imagine how someone wouldn't love this guitar. It's a winner.

      my new guitar

      By Jason

      from Atlanta, GA

Comments about Ibanez AEF30E Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

It's the first guitar I've had the chance to buy in a while...it was actually a toss up between this and a $500 Takamine...but this Ibanez has a wonderful tone to it. Absolutely love it. The finish is a little darker than the one I test drove in the store, but I would recommend this guitar to anyone who doesn't want to spend a lot of cash and is still looking for a guitar that has excellent sound quality. The cut away provides my big fingers with plenty of access to the upper frets as well. #Pleased.

Comments about Ibanez AEF30E Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This guitar is absolutely amazing. I went to the store planning on picking up a Martin, and walked out with this beauty instead. It looks great, it sounds great, it feels great. A lot of acoustic-electric guitars sound bad unplugged; not this one. For the price, I have yet to find a better acoustic guitar. Highly recommended.

Crisp clean tone right out of the box.no dead frets. I love looking it just as much as playing it. I would like a little lower action, but just my preference. Money well spent!

I purchased the Ibanez AEF-30 with the violin top and it is beautiful inside and out. Crisp bright sound right out of the box. Flawless finish. A very durable and solid feeling guitar. I was very pleased with the immediate shipping and the help on the phone before my purchase. It's hard to resist picking this guitar up everytime i walk by it. I am a happy customer.

        By Danno-f9cgq

        from Oshkosh WI

Comments about Ibanez AEF30E Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar three years ago, and I couldnt be happier. The bought the flamed maple and the fininsh is beautiful. I just love the way this guitar sounds and plays, The on borad preamp makes this guitar sing thru an amp or PA. I have owned more expensice acoustics that were not nearly as nice, This is my main axe for my solo shows
