This is a descendent of the old orchestral acoustic guitars, instruments designed to be audible over large instrumental ensembles in the days before amplification. The AW300ECENT Grand Concert is a member of the Artwood Traditional Acoustic-Electric series. These performance-level guitars share many features and are distinguished by their body style and woods used.
If you need a traditional guitar that can easily switch from acoustic to electric, you've found it here in the Ibanez AC300ECENT Artwood Grand Concert Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar. With a Fishman Sonicore Pickup and Ibanez SST Shape Shifter Preamp with Onboard Tuner, players will notice how smooth the transition is from acoustic to electric and back, and it will make playing live gigs so much easier.
The AC300ECENT features a solid spruce top with mahogany back & sides for excellent acoustic tone. The Grand Concert body with cutaway is perfect for finger picking, as it features a wider, 44.5mm neck and shorter 24.9" scale length. Other refinements include a bone saddle on a distinctively contoured bridge and a headstock where tradition and modern style co-exist.
This Ibanez benefits from sophisticated electronics using a Fishman Sonicore pickup and an Ibanez AEQ-SST Shape Shifter preamp with onboard tuner to faithfully reproduce exquisite acoustic tones at any volume level. The AC300ECENT also features both 1/4" and XLR outputs for increased versatility.

I was looking for a short scale and 1 3/4 nut guitar. The first one came in not-so-good condition. The action could not be lowered without buzzing. I return it. I was a Little bit dissapointed, but the guitar was so pretty and so well finished that I took a chance and bought a second one. Now we are talking. The guitar is way pretier than the photos show. It is very, very comfortable to play given its wider and satin neck. The inlays and binding makes it look like a guitar two times its Price. The sound at first was a Little bit tiny for my ears. Now, two weeks gone by and the guitar has open very well. Not the loudness of a dread but very well balanced. I put a O-ring to add projection and it really made a difference. Comes with an extra bone saddle and bridge pin. No need to change the strings. excellent value for the Price. Definitively a keeper.
I don't think you can beat the value for the money this guitar affords. From the sound to the action I am very happy with this purchase. The englemann spruce top and other quality materials make for a nice bright sound. The resonance is stellar. It had everything I was looking for in my next guitar purchase. I think I would have to spend two or three times as much to get the same quality in another brand name. I've had this guitar for only a couple of weeks but it already feels like an old friend! The size and shape are very comfortable. Others have commented on the beauty and quality of the instrument. I am a fingerstyle player/ student so I ordered the 44.5 mm nut width and would highly recommend it for anyone doing more than just strumming. I own two other acoustics, a Cordoba and an Ovation. This one rounds out my trio nicely.
I was looking for an upgrade guitar for my daughter. The grand concert is a smaller body that's ideal for the young women, even when sitting down to play. It doesn't have the big sound of a dreadnaught or grand auditorium, but still has good base response even with light gauge strings. The electronics work great and the tuner works well even unplugged. And on top of this, the guitar is absolutely georgous with classic appointments. You won't be disappointed.
