The guitar that ignited the 7-string revolution in rock!

As astounding now as it was when it came out, Steve Vai's Universe cuts no corners on tone or looks. Abalone disappearing pyramid fret marker inlays; a mirror pickguard; Vai's "Light without Heat" pyramid logo below the bridge; plus full body, neck, and head binding provide staggeringly fabulous looks. A double-locking Ibanez Lo-Pro Edge 7 recessed trem lets you dip and soar with flawless intonation. DiMarzio Blaze humbuckers at the neck and bridge provide chunky rhythm and dense lead tones while a Blaze single coil in the middle provides brighter, edgier highlights. Basswood body and quartersawn maple neck. 24 fat frets times seven strings on the rosewood board adds up to a Universe of freedom for your fingers.

With our Guaranteed Lowest Price, you can be assured of complete satisfaction and the lowest available price, or your money back!

The caddilac of the 7 string

7 string perfection. This guitar was the last of my numerous tries to find the ultimate 7 string. All the 7 strings I played in the past always had some comprimise I couldn't deal with. Finally I played the Universe and I couldn't be happier. I purchased one the same day and haven't looked back since. I highly recomend this guitar to anyone wanting a great 7 string.

Awesome Guitar...

I had been wanting this guitar for some time now even though I had never even touched a 7 string in the 9 years I've been playing when I finally got the money together to buy it last week. Well, it's a little spendy but you get what you pay for! The finish is beautiful, the pictures can't fo it justice. Action is tight and low. It stays in tune even if you whale on the wammy bar. I've tried alot of guitars and I don't think anything comes close to the perfict playability of this wonder-axe. I am a negitive person so I find it strange I have nothing bad to say about this model. The seventh string takes a few hours to get used to but will become an asset quickly. This axe rules!!!

A Seven String for the Ages

I've been looking for a nice 7-string guitar for a long time now, and been around to play many before deciding which to go with. The majority of good 7-strings have come from Ibanez, and this is no exception. Without splurging money for the top of the line, this is one of the best you can get. The mirror-chrome finish is a stylish asset, and may be hit or miss with you, but the sound is incredibly good with just the stock hardware. The bottom end isn't muddied out even when down-tuned to A, and the bridge crunch is still heavy. The neck position through a clean channel is also surprisingly beautiful and not too thick. This is a great guitar if you aren't looking to spend $1500+ on a signature or custom made 7-string, and still get a great value and sound.

Very nice guitar

I couldn't wait to plug it in and play it. The tone is fantastic as well as the components - The Edge II tremelo is responsive and the arm doesn't swing all over the place. I like to use this guitar to warm up - The neck is a little bigger due to the 7th string..I love this guitar. Certainly worth the value...and I have 5 other Ibanez guitars.

Tonal Array Galore!

Wonderful tonal versatility. I use this guitar as my primary studio guitar. Extremly comfortable neck and light body. Double locking trem takes the abuse, I've never had any problems with the Lo-Pro Edge 7 recessed trem. Yeah, there are other seven strings out there...But, this one is well above par! I put my other guitars away because this can do just about anything. No joke. I was never a big fan of Dimarzio pickups until I picked this guitar up. Spend the money folks, you won't be dissapointed! You get all of what you pay for!
