Add tube dynamics to your solid state amp!

A regal name in distortion pedals, the Tube King returns to the Ibanez lineup. While the name and purpose of the Ibanez distortion pedal is the same as the original '90s models, this version of Tube King, the TK999HT, differs from its two predecessors in that it features internal high voltage DC circuitry instead of previous "starved plate" low voltage circuitry. Ibanez says that makes a significant difference.

With the TK999HT the 12AX7 gets normal DC high voltage, allowing total linear operation of the tube. It works just like a tube preamp because it effectively is one! The result is that the TK999HT distortion pedal makes any solid-state amp sound like a tube amp. The distortion is massive yet tight.

With our Guaranteed Lowest Price, you can be assured of complete satisfaction and the lowest available price, or your money back!

  • Awesome BUY IT!

As reviewed by Dave on 3/17/2008

I own the original Ibanez Tube king Tk999US. And this newer pedal sounds WAY better. I would have to say no matter what style music you play, you will get a great warm sound yet still overdrive, out of the pedal. I bought it saying, "If i dont like it I can return it", and I am not returning this pedal. I will not even hesitate if someone said to me "Should I buy this pedal". JUST GO BUY IT!

  • Tube King

As reviewed by Dominick L. on 8/8/2009

I bought this pedal a couple weeks ago and already have extensively played this pedal. This pedal is relatively large and the paint is a solid red color. It feels very secure and strong. At louder and more powerful volumes this pedal still functions as it would normally. This pedal is very simple to use and its controls are extremely responsive. Even with all the knobs at 12 i can still get a very nice tone out of it. The manual and box are too vague however. They do come with sample settings though. The sound out of this pedal though is great. I am using this for my metal rig along with a Kirk Metallica Crybaby(im not an obnoxious wannabe fanboy) and a Maxon OD9(boosting into the Tube King) and then all pedals running into the MXR 10Band EQ with the mids a little scooped, the highs boosted and lows bumped alittle up. It's gain is very great sounding on its own(with everything else, its perfect); its distortion is extremely natural sounding. This pedal has a great deal of warmth, and with the bass at higher levels, it gets too bassy and sounds like a fuzz, I usually cut the bass on this pedal. It warms up your sound so much. There could have been more highs on the pedal to make it a little more flexible. But with my MXR EQ that problem is fixed immediatly, my tone is very strong and powerful and the lead setting is phenomenal. The pinch harmonics on it ring out so clearly. I was shocked how clear they were. I played it with an ESP EX401 EMG81/60 in C# standard and i loved it. I also tried it out with my old Ibanez Gio(i actually LOVE this guitar) and an Ibanez Artcore for a dirty blues setting. The noise gate sucks some tone but at high, noisy volumes it works. I suggest this pedal for Metal(all kinds), it would shine alot in stoner metal because of its lows and thick tone, modern rock, or even (with gain off or low) a pedal to boost your warmth or add a tube feel.

  • WHAAAAAAATTTTT!!!!!!

As reviewed by brandon mcduffie on 1/16/2010

ive had this pedal since christmas, and have wanted it for a while. my local guitar center didnt carry it, so i had to order it offline. i was worried because i like to try before i buy. but when it came out of the box, it sounded like nothing other. i play out of a marshall mg100hdfx head and cab, (solid state) and it soundeed just like a tube amp. this pedal goes from overdrive to dethtcore distortion. im into tool and other bands like mastodon, so this fit perfectly for those sounds. i recommend it to any rock classic rock or metal player any day any time.
