  I've had this bass for about 2 years now, and it's probably my favorite bass i've ever played. It has a really nice low-growl tone and attack. Even though it's a 6 string, due to the spacing of the strings it feels more like a 5 string bass when i play it. The ultra-thin neck also helps when you're playing past the 14th fret. If you're looking for a bass with a nice attack and low-end growl, this is the bass for you.

  If your reading this, then I was you about a month ago. I was lookin for an upgrade and figured might as well go 6 string as well. I shopped online for new and used and researched for weeks, trying to find something I could afford that wasn't of cheep quality and sound. Spending $800 is definitely worth the time to do your research and if you have the option, play before you buy, ALWAYS! I recently purchased the Ibanez SR706TK at my local GC, and I have to say I've never been more pleased with this investment. I used to play the chincy 305 model and lemme tell you, if your looking for a great upgrade without breakin your bank too much, this is your bass! The neck is a little wider (naturally expected) then the 5 stringers, but its slim and smooth and allows for quick fret work. It took only a matter of minutes to get used to this bad boy and I haven't set it down since. I like that the tone knobs have a notch at the medium or middle setting. This allows for more options to help find that great tone without having to worry about bumping and loosing your knobs position. (Mines at: Bass full, Mids mid, Treble mid). I never understood the theory, "you have to have your knobs all the way up and adjust tone through your amp." The knobs are there for a reason, if it was always supposed to be at its fullest, then why even have the knobs, but I digress.. These Bartolini's are to kill for. If you've ever had a hard time cutting through the mix, that problem will now be a thing of the past. These pick-ups are a great addition to developing that tone you've been questing for. I use a SansAmp Bass Driver DI, Ampeg B2-Re (450w), GK 4x10 goldline (400w), and a Mesa 1x15 (400w) and with these pick-ups I have no problem cuttin through both guitar players and it doesn't get mudded with the kicks. Very important in metal.. The only negative remark I have is that the B and E string saddles loosen after a week or so of play. It's not a hard fix and probably isn't an Ibanez recall type of problem. It very well just might have been the one that I bought. However, this flaw is covered under the Pro Coverage Warranty so I don't have to pay it to get fixed. BUY THE WARRANTY!! It's a little bit more money overall, but for that piece of mind that your new bass will be fully covered for 3 years is completely worth it. All-in-all, if you've read this much into it like I did, then just buy it already. I PROMISE you won't be disappointed with the SR706TK!

• Really Nice Bass

  This particular bass is my personal favorite.I got this bass about a year ago and have been very pleased with it.I use it a lot to play at my church and it really stands out in the music, but in a good way.The pick-ups are good and the thin neck gives you absolute control of the bass.Its a bit heavy but once your playing, you have quickly forgotten about the weight. Overall its an amazing bass and a great investment.
