Solid performance and sharp looks - Almost impossible to beat value

I bought one, expecting to occasionally use it to lay down tracks in a small home studio. God had other plans. I'm a guitarist, not a bass player, but the church I go to needed another bassist. So now I'm a bassist. This was an awsome tool to launch into something I didn't really know. The tonal range is amazing, the active electronics are solid and very usable. You can cover almost anything you can imagine by making a couple adjustments. Frankly, I play mine set flat and balanced between both pickups. Currently using an Line 6 LD300, but I've played it through the LD110 and LD150 also and it's always produced great sounds. I pretty much stick with Slaptastic picked for slower stuff needing a fatter yet more subtle tone (Channel A default) and go for Channel C Rockit for more rock based tunes needing something more agressive. So, the sound of an Eden Travler or An Ampeg SVT. The thin profile neck might not be for "traditional" players, but for anyone with small hands, limited mobility, or just used to playing guitar it works wonderfully making it fast and easy to play. While the Cherry Sunburst seems more popular, I personally love my Lavender Burst. The subtle yet colorful purple over the figured maple is gorgeous. This is a solid instrument for the money. But, I've recently bought an Ibaneze SR505. It's another Sound Gear, but is Mahogony, and has the Bartolini elctronics and pickups. While not as eye catching, it's a better instrument in my opinion. It's also more expensive than this one... I don't expect the SR400QM to go away anytime soon. It's being kept along with the newer SR505. Play one. You'll be hard pressed to find a more competent instrument for the same money.

Awesome Bass

I've been playing bass for over a year and a half now and decided to get a second bass. My first one is not bad but could be better so i decided to shop for an Ibanez and man did i make the right choice. The tone and range of this bass is unmeasurable. One moment you'll be laying down a nice Jazz line then adjust the sound and play some crazy chili peppers riffs. I recomend this for anyone who likes to drift in and out of different styles of music. This bass not only looks good but is ten other basses in one.
