  • If You're Serious About Bass

As reviewed by Leo on 10/27/2009

This is a great bass, I've had it for over four months now and I'm still as happy as the day I got it. With all the nobs on this baby you can find some nice tone for just about any style. I practice with my band Perdition and the bass cuts through perfectly, for once I can hear my tone complimenting the band. The bridge and neck are awesome, very quick and smooth. The strings are pretty close together, this made the jump from guitar to bass very easy and comfortable. The body on this bass is very slim and comfortable, if you've ever played an Ibanez Prestige, the body feels pretty much like a bass version of that. I had planned on changing the pickups right out of the box but I found these pickups to be extremely good for being stock, I love them. Something else I haven't seen mentioned is the magnets in the tone nobs that lock on 0 and 10, so they don't move around while you're playing too much. If you're serious about buying a solid, great bass, buy this.

I bought this about 4 months ago and its great! i love this thing I've been playing for a bout 5 years now and i decided to try a five string and i love it it sounds great! Fast moving neck, strings are close together which makes it easier to get those quick heavy notes in. I couldn't have spent my money any better this is a great bass and i would recommend it to anyone!

  • Still going Strong!!

As reviewed by dave williams on 1/20/2011

It has been almost a year that I have owned this Ibanez 305. I have no regrets. The active electronics are easy on batteries, and offer more range options than I will ever use. It is light and comfortable on the shoulder. The radius of the neck is smooth and easily allows for full access of the neck. Out of the box, there were 2 frets that had some buzz, but with a cautious neck adjustment, and some saddle play, I was able to remedy this. The action is now super low, requiring minimal effort to hit the note, and with string spacing, grabbing chords, and octaves is almost effortless. Setting the intonation was average, and I was able to get it much closer than I have on guitars I have owned before. While I have drooled over basses that are known as being an industry standard, and can easily cost over a grand, if I lost this bass today, I would definately order another one.
