Its five-piece SR5 wenge/bubinga neck is also bolstered with KTS™ titanium reinforcement rods inside, and finished with a rosewood fretboard. The Mono-Rail bridge is the ultimate in string isolation for bass. Each saddle is independently and securely locked down to the body for maximum vibration transfer and no interference. One screw controls the height of each saddle for easy adjustment.

This bass is beautiful, inside and out. The moment I opened the box and unwrapped this baby, I was in love. The natural woods are gorgeous. Many people have come up to me after a gig and commented on how beautiful it looks. They always want to touch it.
Looks aside though, this bass is wonderful to play. It?s well balanced and isn?t heavy at all. The thin fingerboard and 305mm radius fit my hand perfectly. I was amazed at how easily my fingering adapted and my playing improved over my old Fender Jazz Bass.
The sound of this bass matches its beauty. It has a full, rich sound. It is exactly the sound I was looking for. Best of all, the tone and balance controls help contour the sound any way I want. The cut-out switch is a nice feature too when I want to quickly flatten out the tone curve.
If you are hesitant to order a bass on-line without having taken it for a ride, don?t worry. I was reluctant at first too and read many reviews before I ordered it. You won?t be disappointed.
Even though this is a reasonably priced premium bass, it is still a pretty hefty purchase for me, thus I was hesitant about ordering a BASS on line. my first Bass was an Ibanez, 200, and I like the neck on the Ibanez guitars.
THIS BASS DOES NOT DISSAPPOINT! when I unboxed it and picked it up for the first time, I was hooked. It is BEAUTIFUL, natural finish woods, the ovangkol top on the mahogany, gives just enough heft for the big sound I wanted, without excess weight. this is about the same weight as my '82 issue '57 P-Bass with an extra string!
I've played it for a couple services now, and as much as I hate to say it, I believe my wonderful classic P-Bass is going to become a wall hanger... the Norstrand pickups deliver as promised, big beautiful tone!
The Ibanez neck is just fabulous, I love the thin neck, unlike every other 5 string I picked up. Everything else felt like I was trying to play the fat end of a Major League baseball bat... YUK..
this thing is balanced well, and is put together well...
SO HAPPY that Ibanez came out with this series!
I bought this for my husband as a suprise and he absolutely LOVES it!!! He was going from a 4-string to this 5-string and he doesn't want to stop playing. He loves how easy it is for him to softly touch the strings and it sounds so smooth and powerful.
