Product Information

A legendary metal axe sharpens it's blade a bit more.

Since 1987, many players have selected the Ibanez RG as their weapon of choice for visiting sonic mayhem on the metal masses. With the right choice of pickups, flat and fast necks and double-locking trems, the RG has divebombed and crunched its way to classic status. To the RG's lethal combination of features, RG Prestige models add the comfortable, rounded feel of Prestige neck finishing, drop-dead good looks and top-shelf electronics and hardware.

The Ibanez RGT6EXFX electric guitar's pickups and pickup placement provide the hard-edged cutting tone needed for heavy rock. As heavy as it rocks, this guitar is made of basswood, a comparatively lightweight wood, which makes it very comfortable for extended playing. With a good balance of highs and lows, basswood is right in between alder and mahogany in sound character. 24 jumbo frets offer easy playing for leads and chording, and a fixed bridge design offers thru-body stringing for stronger tone and sustain.

With our Guaranteed Lowest Price, you can be assured of complete satisfaction and the lowest available price, or your money back!

Ibanez RGT6EXFX Electric Guitar Features:

  • EMG 85 (H) Neck PU

  • Basswood Body
  • Wizard II (neck-thru)
  • 5pc. Maple/ Walnut Neck Material
  • 24 jumbo frets

A little more in-depth....

This black beauty has some key features that I personally (being an Ibanez-ONLY player) thought stood above and beyond any RG before it. For starters...tone-wise, this thing could kick the pants off an ESP...no contest. It's got an active 81 set that SCREAMS! The construction is VERY solid, and when you pick it up, it feels right at home. The neck is somewhat of a new one on Ibanez RG Series guitars...it's not a bolt on, for starters...but my favorite little thing about it was the thumb rest behind the nut...I grabbed ahold of it and played the *HECK*, lol, out of the bottom few frets...it was BEYOND great control! This is not a guitar for the faint of heart...when played properly through the right setup, it will remove heads from necks! My only complaint is as stated before...this guitar...for the price...should be a Prestige model. Other than that...Ibanez has created perfection once again. I will be picking one of these up later this month...until then I just go to Guitar Center and play it every other day :)

Awesome axe!

I have owned this particular Ibanez for only a few weeks now and am still truly amazed. I have been playing Ibanez guitars for about 6 years now and this is by far the best out of all of mine. The only thing it doesnt have is a tremolo bridge, but thats fine by me as I am not a tremolo player.

Amazing!!!

This is one of the easiest guitars to play hands down. First it's an Ibanez RG, so it's great for Metal and heavy stuff. What's more is that its got EMGs! The build on this guitar is perfect. Anyone who plays Mathcore or technical Death Metal should consider this axe.

From a man that owns this Beast

This is an amazing guitar. I don't know what else to say, I played it then I went home and the next day I had to buy it. If you are reading this then you already know the specs on it. This is the best guitar that I own, it plays like a dream and it?s sustain and tone will blow you out of the water. This guitar is a must for any RG player.
