Simply amazing...

I bought this guitar, though it was lavendar at the time, about a year and a half ago, and it has held up superbly. It sounds quite fantastic, even with the stock pickups. I had the bridge pickup replaced with a Dimarzio Evolution thinking it would make the sound way better, but to be honest, it only squeals a little better, and it sounds roughly the same. It's made of solid mahogany, so it's a bit heavier than a lot of guitars, but it still sits so comfortably against you that it doesn't really matter. It never falls out of tune. It has a double locking tremolo, and it can use it endlessly without worrying about losing your tuning. The only inconveniences about it are those you would normally expect from a floyd rose style trem, such as difficult string changes and tuning, until you get the hang of it, and if you break one string, the whole thing falls out a step or so. If you want to do alternate tunings, you need to have it set up to do so, except for maybe drop d. But besides those minor gripes, it's a fantastic guitar, and it holds up nicely, even when bumped into things. I highly recommend this, or something similar from the Ibanez line. They don't make them much better than this.

Does everything well

It only took about three minutes to decide to buy this guitar. The through neck and cutaways are shaped to give the best access to the upper frets of any guitar I've played. This guitar has sustain for days. The pickups sound great but they are not bright - kind of a dark tone, with lots and lots of output power. Clarity is good and balance is very good. The simple adjustments work well. Pots and switch feel like good quality parts. Metal knobs - not plastic, are a nice touch. The frets are HUGE, and seem fast to me - it's a personal preference thing of course. This is my first Floyd Rose type trem. It's fun and seems to hold tune pretty well. This is a much better trem than a Strat trem and has a larger range. My other electrics are a Strat, Les Paul DC, ES-335, and a Rickenbacker 360. All these are really good - this Ibanez definitely belongs in that crowd.

Great All Around

Ive been playing for almost 3 years now. Ive played on many brands, Fender, BC Rich, Schecter, and this by far is my favorite of any guitar ive played on. It looks and feels great. The neck is superb. I would recommend this for any players from new to veterans.

One of the best

This is simply amazing! I had tried out many, many guitars (Gibsons, Epiphones, etc.) and bought this Ibanez after 6 months of research and playing. It caught my eye when I saw the beautiful finish. I got it down and played for about 10 minutes and decided I was going to get it. I play it through a Line 6 Spider III and it just sounds great.Excellent work Ibanez!
