A sonic demon with a fast, flat neck, rabid pickups and a double-locking tremolo bridge.

The Ibanez RG5SP Electric Guitar has a double-locking Edge III tremolo bridge system that allows radical effects and sonic chaos with total tuning stability. A 24-fret, thin 3-piece Wizard II neck allows fast and effortless shredding. Total tonal choice is provided by 5-way switching of an Ibanez Infinity 4 bridge humbucker with an alnico magnet that sounds warm with good harmonics, an Infinity 3 bridge humbucker with a ceramic magnet producing dynamic sound for rhythm chording, and an Infinity Single3 single-coil with an alnico magnet for traditional sounds with high output.

For over 2 decades, the Ibanez RG guitar has reigned as the monarch of metal guitars. Why? Because the Ibanez RG is an electric guitar that has the perfect combination of fast, flat neck, the right pickups and pickup placement, and a precision trem system that metes out creative destruction.

  • Great feel and great motion

I got this guitar about 4 months ago, and I?m very satisfied with my purchase. Its light and never a hassle to carry around. My hands feel free when I play on it, and I can play faster than I ever could. 24 frets makes it a plus too, and the sound great for rock. This guitar works very well with distortion, and definitely is great for solos and riffs. I?m a rocker, but I?ve found that blues and jazz work well on this guitar, too. The Floyd rose tremolo is always a plus and it never ever goes out of tune. But, I can never get this guitar into drop d or any tuning other than standard tuning. That?s my only problem, everything else is great. Stock pickups are pretty good and 5 way tone selector definitely gives you a choice to what sound you want. I recommend you get this guitar because it?s a great bargain buy.

Out of the box the setup was to my liking, low action and tuned(close).Had a little buzz on the low E string but corrected it with a minor trem adjustment. This is my 3rd guitar with a floating bridge. This one has the Edge 3 which in my opinion works better than the licensed Floyd Rose trems on my other guitars.Stock pickups are satisfactory and i do not plan on replacing them for now, but may throw in some Dimarzio's in the future.I play through a Traynor YCV Blue 50 watt all tube, a Rocktron Replitone 212, a Crate 33 tube head with a Crate 212 cab with Eminence Texas Heat speakers, i also use a Fender FM100H head with the same cab with numerous stomp boxes from distortion, fuzz and overdrives. The RG rocks on all of them really well.Chords, left and right hand mutes and harmonics are easy. The Wizard 2 neck is slim flat and fast, love the looks of the reverse head. Probrably the easiest guitar i have to play, and i have 34 other electrics. Seems to be well built and reliable. Very happy with this purchase.
