Availability:

A dream guitar for southpaws shredders!

The left-handed Ibanez RG5EX1 electric guitar has a basswood body with a bound 24-fret, 3-piece Wizard II neck for fast and effortless shredding. Aesthetic touches include sharktooth fingerboard inlays and black hardware.

Infinity Pickups
The Infinity 3 (INF3) humbucking pickup has a ceramic magnet and delivers dynamic tones for chording and rhythm. The Infinity Single 3 (INFS3) is a single-coil pickup with an Alcico magnet and has a traditional-sound with the higher output demanded by modern music. It is designed to work with the humbuckers in the split position. The Infinity 4 is a humbucking pickup with an Alnico magnet and has a brilliant tone for lead work. It's warm and generates good harmonics.

Edge III tremolo
The Edge III tremolo has lower profile fine tuners for better palm comfort and provides strength and extraordinary tuning stability even under the most demanding playing conditions. The diabolical, double-locking Edge III bridge lets you get into radical tremolo territory while retaining total tuning stability.

For two decades, the legion of Ibanez RG warriors has grown like a virus, thrusting the RG guitar to the head of the metal pack. The Ibanez RG's fast, flat necks, rabid pickups, and double-locking tremolos deliver demonically charged sounds that go far beyond the world of mere mortals.

  • GREAT!

As reviewed by Colton Sellers on 12/3/2010

I have been waiting to buy this guitat for a long time. It is one of the best I have ever play.. considering i have only played like 5... but I enjoy it a lot! Though the tremelo bar gets annoying WHEN in need of tuning, with the right care, that is rarely needed! Thumbs up!

  • There is no way Ibanez made this. >:(

As reviewed by Jerin on 9/13/2009

I went to guitar center and picked this guitar up only to find that it was out of tune. Seeing as this is the case for most guitars with a locking tremolo, I was not turned off by the guitar. It ended up taking me a whole ten minutes to tune the guitar and by the time it was ready to play, I was ready to put it down. When I first sat down with it, I instantly noticed a difference in the neck. It wasn't as slim as a lot of the older Ibanez guitars(which ultimately disappointed me). The Diamarzio pickups are HORRID! The Edge Pro is TERRIBLE! I don't recommend that anyone buy this guitar, even if it is the only Ibanez lefty with a locking tremolo.

  • What do you mean Ibanez Didn't Make This!?

As reviewed by Alan on 9/29/2009

I was at guitar center and saw an unexpected surprise-The Ibanez RG5EX1 guitar and I just said wow!!! The finish is amazing, no fingerprint stains by the way. The neck is just awesome! Many reasons you should get this guitar: 1. It's an Ibanez! (You've already made a fine choice!) 2.The "more than you can expect" features for it's price. 3.Tremolo system is very cool, you could do anything even I can ever think of-Satch Screams,Dimebag Squeals,Steve Vai's Bad Horsie squeals, ESPECIALLY Eddie Van Halen Divebombs! 4.Nice pickups, and this is a great sounding guitar. 5.Born for Shred,Neo-Classical,Thrash,or anything fast! Save yourself the search and go for the Ibanez. You WON'T regret it!!! (I know I didn't!)
