I have had this guitar for around 5-6 months now, and I have had one issue after another. The main issues have been with the sound. It sounds OK clean, and really good with the distortion, but the first 3 strings are excessively bright and there is no way around it. I have tried everything possible and have asked a guitar tech about it to resolve this issue. I have also encountered a lot of feedback issues, and other odd noises coming from the guitar as I play. I never had this issue with previous guitars on the same setup. I do not have much money, and I am pretty upset that this guitar turned out to be a dud. This guitar still is great though for riffing and such! It is also very good looking, but from the experiences I have had, I cannot wait to trade it in next month. I have heard that some people have had really good experience with this guitar, but this guitar is not worth the price in my book.
I bought this guitar on a whim built sheerly on the foundation of feel and tone. And let me tell you, this guitar has both to spare! After about 6 months with this beauty, I have encountered no problems whatsoever and only found enjoyment with it in my hands. Now, some people will tell you that Ibanez guitars, especially low or mid-range ones, are for metal and metal only. While it's true that this guitar excels beyond the competition in that particular genre, it also sounds like a dream in almost all others. While it may not have twang enough for country, I found that, with the Humbucker-Single-Humbucker pickup configuration, this instrument can play almost anything else you wish it to. Sure, it might not sound like the greatest choice for a blues guitar for example, but with the right tinkering to both guitar knobs/pickup selection and amp, you'll be imitating B.B. fairly well in no time at all. I've reached for this guitar in almost every situation I've been in, whether it be for teaching, practicing, writing, or just jamming for the fun of it. The lack of a trem might be a bit of a put-off for some, but was the deciding factor for me, as I can't stand Floyd Rose style trems. Overall, this guitar is an absolute steal for this price, and, in my opinion, the only guitar that i personally own (out of all nine of them), only my Gold Top Les Paul can equal this mighty instrument.
This guitar is a pretty sweet steel.I chose this guitar bcus I was going to get a Tele and or a Jazz box.The string thru body design and saddle attachment is very clever as it gives you an option in string tension and feel with a good tone thru stock p`ups. The neck is solid and flat with a decent height right outta the box. The highlights of this guitar is the neck and body....................easily something you would find on more expensive models.very much worth rihg
