      Ibanez RG450M Electric Guitar (H91434)

An affordable rocker with a basswood body, Wizard neck, maple fingerboard and tremolo bridge.

The RG is the most recognizable and distinctive guitar in the Ibanez line. Three decades of metal have forged this high-performance machine, honing it for both speed and strength. This RG450DM model has a basswood body and a Wizard III neck shape that offers maximum comfort and speed. Its fingerboard is maple with 24 jumbo frets for bigger note bends and it also comes with triple Ibanez INF pickups that are wired to a 5-way switch for a variety of coil combinations and sounds. An Edge-Zero tremolo bridge and black hardware complete the list of hard-rockin' appointments.

Wizard III Maple neck
Ibanez's thin, flat, and fast, yet strong and sturdy, Wizard neck offers unlimited playability for demanding players, and features a two-octave 24-fret fretboard for wide tonal range.

Infinity Pickups
The Infinity neck pickup provides dynamic sound for chording and rhythm playing, and the bridge pickup provides brightness with warm sound and strong harmonics.

Edge-Zero II Tremolo
Lower profile designed tremolo for playing comfort, and stud lock function for stable tuning.

  • Not as good as the older rg350m

As reviewed by joe on 10/1/2014

Well basically the basswood body and maple neck wood are the same as the rg350's but in different colors that are not big deal. First the wizard 3 neck is very thin and wimpy it feels like a popsicle stick, weak and thin, if you drop it the neck will break in a few pieces. The rg350 wizard 2 necks feel and play much better it's little fatter and it gives you more sustain with it. And the wizard 2 necks are still thin enough but a little more wood on them to make them feel comfortable. Second the edge zero2 is also crap, it looks and feels like it's made out of lego blocks, it looks like it has to many small parts and Cheaper lookin than the edge3. I've read that people were having tuning problems with the edge3 but I never had any problems with them no matter how I abused them going up & down the edge3 always stayed in tune and they look like the original edge trems which were probably Ibanez's best trem. Ibanez was using the edge3 trems for at least 15 years before they change them to those crappy edge zero2's. And the Inf 3 & 4 pickups are alright. But I noticed that those pickups can sound really good on some RG's and on others not so. But if you don't like how they sound you can always change. I just happen to have a couple of the 2009 RG350's and they sound and play great with the original pickups and edge3 on them. Maybe I just lucky in finding good sounding and playing RG350's or maybe they were made better in 2009.

  • Solid and usable after pickup swap

As reviewed by NATHAN DENTON on 7/22/2013

This is way better than the previous rg350. Comes with a edge zero 2 witch is a huge improvement to the edge 3 also the wizard 3 neck is thinner than the wizard 2. Pickups are not so great but you can always swap them for somthing else. denfintley a good work horse with a solid trem for 399.

  • Ibanez rg450 stays in tune!

As reviewed by John Darland on 7/10/2013

Just got this. I am very impressed. The gray color looks much better in person. The neck is smooth, thin and feels great. No sharp frets. The pickups are great as far as stock pickups can be. Bridge is inf4, crunchy and hot. Neck is inf3 is mellow and bluesy, although alittle dull sounding. The middle sounds good blended with the bridge pickup, but not on its own. The trem is amazing. The guitar came almost setup. I had to perform some treaks. The trem stays in tune perfectly. What a difference from the old edge 3. Easy to tune, smooth feeling and no issues. I've had the edge 3 in the past and did not care for it. The edge zero is so smooth. Feels almost like an original Floyd rose. The paint is flawless, neck is beautiful. I am happy. Try one out. thanks
