The All Access Neck Joint System on the Ibanez PGM300RE offers Paul (with his large hand) unlimited upper fret access.
DiMarzio Pickups
Dimarzio PAF-Pro Humbuckers and a true single-coil FS-1 on this stunning Ibanez guitar are the mighty combination for Paul's searing, shredding and even crystal clear tone. All can be dialed-in with the Ibanez Sprit-5 switching system. The PAF-Pro humbucker pickups in the neck and bridge position have alnico magnets for added presence, output and clarity. The DiMarzio FS-1 single-coil pickup in the middle position also has an alnico magnet with has about 25% more power than a stock single-coil, producing a smoother and fatter-sounding all around.
Edge Tremolo Bridge
The legendary original Edge Tremolo bridge on the Paul Gilbert guitar was one of the most reliable double-locking systems for '80s shred guitarists. Paul was a heavy whammy user in that period.
