  • Excellent Guitar!

As reviewed by Jim on 6/4/2009

When I went shopping for a new guitar recently, I was looking for something new for me. I own two Les Pauls, a Jackson Soloist, Fender Strat and an old '85 Charvel. I heard good things about the higher end Ibanez guitars, so I grabbed the JS1000 off of the rack and it played incredible. The neck is more rounded than any other guitar that I have played, and took a little time to get comfortable with. However, I now find it easier to play than my other guitars. The DiMarzio pickups provide fantastic tone. Not quite as hot as my Les Paul pickups, which make it perfect for our more bluesy songs. What I really love is the Edge Lo-Pro tremolo system. My Jackson and Charvel have Floyd Rose systems and are not nearly as solid as this tremolo. Overall, this is the best guitar that I own and well worth the money.

Nice Pick-ups. Can get you to any style of playing. Neck is outstanding for guys with smaller hands. Color gets exotic in sunlight or well lighted room. Floating edge pro is the ultimate vibrato trem. Guitar is very lightweight and won't cause you any back problems. Good weight for traveling The only concern was that it has only 22 frets instead of 24. Good for people who plays both strat and pauls.

I think this is the best guitar. I had Les Pauls, Jacksons and Strats....but this is the best. Very easy to play and incredible fast neck. The only personal thing to change is instead of 22 frets will be better with 24. And I prefer the headstock of the RG's a little to the back.
