There's no getting around it: the new J.custom RG2011 from Ibanez is one smart, smokin' string-machine. It begins with the time-honored, studio-and-stage-tested tonewood combination of mahogany body and flamed maple top. The Super Wizard neck has ultra-thin, ultra-flat Wizard 17mm neck dimensions with 5-piece construction and titanium reinforcement bars for more strength. The J. custom Tree of Life fretboard inlays signify quality design and craftsmanship.
The HSH pickup array consists of the powerful combination of DiMarzio® Air Norton™ in the neck position, DiMarzio® True Velvet™ in the middle and DiMarzio® Tone Zone® in the bridge. The Air Norton has deep and warm tone, but not muddy. It's hot, but not distorted. It's even got cool harmonics, which are really unusual for a neck humbucker. The True Velvet is a vintage-style single-coil pickup that's clean and bright, but designed to still sound sweet when picking above the 12th fret. The coil is tuned to a frequency range that’s bright but not thin. The Tone Zone is hot enough to qualify as a high-output pickup, but has a wider dynamic range--hard picking will produce a lot of power, and softer picking will be much cleaner and quieter. The 5-way pickup switch gives you the following choices: 1 - neck, 2 - neck humbucker inner coil + single-coil middle pickup, 3 - Single-coil, 4 - Single-coil + bridge humbucker inner coil, 5 - bridge humbucker.
The Edge Zero bridge with ZPS3Fe spring system allows for the most radical of trem effects with flawless tuning accuracy.
