Sleek and stealth with a wizard neck and HSH configuration.

The cutting edge of Ibanez design, the Iron Label SIR70FD Series Electric Guitar with DiMarzio Pickups is a marvel of form and function. Its signature body shape - sculpted, lightweight, and mahogany - is stronger and more musically responsive than guitars weighing twice as much. It features the Nitro Wizard Neck, a legendary super-thin, ultra-playable neck with road-tested durability. This model comes with DiMarzio® Pickups in an HSH configuration. Made in the US, these pickups offer deep, warm & rich dynamics. The Gibraltar Standard is a simple fixed bridge that was designed to unify with the guitar's body and provide optimal transfer of each string's vibration with a smooth surface designed to maximize playing comfort.

  • Somewhat Disappointed

Don't get me wrong. This is an awesome guitar. The action is fast, and it's lightweight. I bought this guitar a couple months ago. When it arrived, I took it home. Plugged up. Strummed a couple chords, and immediately, I knew something was wrong. There's a LOT of "buzzing" going on near the 4th fret. I'm no guitar tech, but I'm guessing the 4th fret is a little bit too high. I took it back to Guitar Center, and went to the Guitar tech guy. I was told after they briefly glanced down the neck, that they couldn't see anything wrong with it. He said try changing the tuning, and recommended a heavier gauge string. I've tried both. Still buzzing. :/ Now I'm stuck playing my 20 yr old Squire Strat. Come on guys... I think it should have been properly gone over, and "Set Up." I'm gonna take it back to them.. again.. :/

  • Great guitar.

As reviewed by Penny Horan on 5/13/2013

I'll start by just saying that for the price, this thing can't be beat. Why? Well, plain and simple, it's the pickups. The DiMarzio set is awesome, and the versatility and range they offer blows my mind. The five-way selector allows for a lot of expression from one guitar. Yeah, I know, that's hardly groundbreaking, but for the price, it really blows my mind. I very briefly owned the RG Iron Label prior to trading it in for the S, and I'm glad I did. Despite being separated by a mere $100 in price, the S blows the RG out of the water. The RG's construction felt shoddy and unprofessional, and the EMG pickups, though of course great, can't offer the versatility the S's DiMarzios have. I have zero regrets with this thing. Try one out, see if you like it. The Nitro Wizard neck is awesomely playable and the pickups scream.
