An ultrafast playing experience with a gorgeous quilted maple top.

Meet Ibanez's new made-for-metal guitar series, Iron Label. Working from the chassis of their famous RG, they modded and tweaked with the heaviest of metal in mind. Decked out in an icy white finish, The RGIX20FEQMs quilted maple top and basswood body hits that perfect formula comfortable weight and rich in sustain. With jumbo frets and bound Ebony fingerboard, playing speed and comfort are carried to a new level by the original innovators of the fast neck, with their latest Nitro Wizard neck design.

And no matter what your signal chain, an EMG 60 in the neck position, and an EMG 81 in the bridge guarantees a thick, complex distortion from which to carve your signature sound. The reliable Gibraltar Standard bridge is the envy of the industry, and the performance enhancing killswitch puts you in command of a head-turning strobe effect. With the purposefully Spartan Iron Label, you won't find a feature here that doesn't contribute directly to waking the dead.

First of all, this thing is beautiful. The trans gray glows with evil menace. The body is prestige light and the neck is everything they say it is. I love the clean fingerboard. The look is pure metal. Unboxing this thing was like finally getting the prom date you never thought you could get, out of that prom dress, and that is just how it looks! The feel is clean and smooth, the setup is perfect out of the box, low and fast and the fixed bridge lends it a sweet quality when played unplugged. The ebony fingerboard is snappy like maple but has a deep undertone that stays tighter than any guitar I have ever played. All of this is before I ever plugged it in. I ran the beast through my 6505 plus half stack. I was worried about only having one knob to control both the tone and the volume. Now I wish all my guitars were like this. It just works beautifully. The EMG's delivered all that was expected, but there was something more, a quality to the electronics or the balance of woods with the pups, I don't know, but it was better than any 81/60 combo I have tried. They shimmered and sang on the clean channel and I could dial everything from the cleanest jazz tones to the nastiest blues. When I kicked in the overdrive and slammed into the crunch channel it was pure ecstasy. I own several RG's and none of them even come close to the tones this thing has. The harmonics are insane and easy to control at the same time. The 81 in the bridge is bright clear and nasty. The 60 in the neck is warmer while somehow still being clean and clear. The balance between the two is perfect. flip the switch to the middle, roll back the volume/tone knob and you could swear your playing a Les Paul. Roll the knob back up and switch to the 60 and you've got an American made Stratocaster. I never imagined that one knob and a three way selector could give me more tonal options than a five way switch, two knobs and a coil tapped bridge pup! Long story short, I had to switch to headphones and still rampaged on this thing well into the wee hours of the morn. As a defender of the faith it is my sworn duty to disturb the Saturday morning peace, drive the women from the house and hear the lamentations of the neighbors. With my new weapon of mad destruction I am well on my way. Thanks to GC for all their assistance. They were great and the whole experience rocked.
