Good for Beginners
This bass is great for the price. It has some good action to it. Some nice sounds. Sounds great on a Marshall hybrid. My friend and I did some recordings with this baby a few weeks ago and it performed like a champ, very nice funky grooves and it wasn't even amped. Just a direct in. Very good for the price. Highly recommended for non-bassist.

The Ibanez IJXB190: Very Nice!
I got the pack on Christhmas 2005. I'm going to stress that this a STARTER PACK and I am comparing to other packs. I have since bought a Oscar Schmidt by Washburn Delta King bass.
Features: The bass is decent. The input jack comes loose and spins around, which breaks all the wires. I got a nice jack put in it. The pickups are nice, I am going to put EMG passives in it. Frets are nice, not jagged. Bridge is good, it has nice sustain and doesn't hack up your strings (which you should change as soon as you can). The neck was set perfect right out of the box.
Amp: OK. Not a whole lot of tone, but it is alot better than the amps that come with the Squire and Epiphone packs.
Accessories: Tuner is nice. I still use it though I have the Boss TU-2. Strap stinks, get a new one with locks as soon as you can. Headphones are relly great. Video is really helpful. Gerald Veasley (who is awesome) shows how to play and take care of your bass.
I believe that's it. The bass is well built and is worth putting some money into, it will still be cheaper than buying another one. Buy it, you won't be dissapointed.

This is THE kit to get you going !
This kit has ALL you need to start grooving right out of the box. It won't empty your wallet and you get a top notch bass. The only flaws are the strap and the cable, everything else is GREAT!

Good Bass
My parents bought this bass for me about three years ago. However, they did not get the entire Jumpstart Pack. They got just the bass. The Ibanez IJXB190 is a great starting bass. It has great volume and tone for the price. It is fairly light and has a good feel to it. I have played many other "starting" basses but none pleased me more than this. I highly recommend that you buy this bass. It feels good, looks good, and sounds good. All for one great low price. Get it!!!

this bass lasts so long
i got this bass when i first begun playing (about 3 years ago). And its still in really good condition. the only bad thing i had with this bass is that the tuning keys are plastic and might crack like mine did. and they also are a little loose so when you play it they keys buzz. but over all this bass it great for starters.

Perfect for Starters
I got this pack over a year ago, and it has helped me learn bass really well.
When you're begining, you don't need to worry about have the best sounding bass or the highest quality amp and such, you just need to worry about if its practical and if it's going to help you learn the fundamentals, and it sure does.
Some minor adjustments need to be made after you start getting better, and you're more focused on tone after you know the fundamentals and you are more experienced. New pickups will help the tone, as well as a better quality cable and amp. The tuners, however, are top-notch and almost never go more than a smidgen out of tune, even after weeks of playing.
I love this pack, and the bass is definatley a keeper, don't hesitate to buy this if you want to learn

Military Friendly
Well I already own 3 bass', but being deployed to Afghanistan I didn't want to risk damaging one of them. Our own post exchange has Bass kits like this in their catalog but will not ship overseas?!?! On a whim I contacted Guitar Center and, well, it's on its way. I've been playing long enough to know you get what you pay for, but being able to get anything at all out here is a blessing. HIGH FIVE GUITAR CENTER!! YOU ROCK!!

Not bad at all
I picked this up having never even touched a bass, but I'd have to say it's a pretty good package.
The bass itself has a really nice feel to it with its thin neck and smooth finish on the backside of it. Nice sound, unless you mess with the tone control, which seems to amplify mistakes. A few parts of it (like the tuners) seem cheap, but not outrageously so at this price.
The amp is fine if you don't expect it to shake a house, though the EQ on it doesn't seem to do a ton. I usually use the supplied headphones, which are surprisingly good.
I felt the tuner was jumping around too much to get a decent read, but checking it with a borrowed chromatic it seemed spot on. The battery case on it, however, is entirely too difficult to open.
Only real problem with this package is the strap. It's very cheap, uncomfortable and just not long enough if you're even slightly tall.

Better than all the other starter kits
Pretty good bass you get alot of stuff for the price. Change the strap unless you like dents in your bass and the headphones are crap. Also, a minor complaint is that one of the little plastic pieces on the headstock is not screwed in but that can easily be fixed. Overall awesome bass for a beginner like me.
