Obviously you can't beat the price of this guitar; however, I attempted to do my homework prior to purchasing, researching the top guitar brands, quality, and prices. And the Ibanez package deal fit my budget, was produced by a quality company and Ibanez is a recognizeable brand. Although I am new to the guitar, I'm taking lessons, reading books, watching DVD's and I think this was a great choice for my first guitar. I highly recommend it, I have no regrets. Just like anything else you'll always upgrade once you get better, but for now start here....
This is the first guitar I ever bought. I should have learned to play guitar ages ago. The Ibanez IJAE5 makes the whole process an absolute joy.
I got the Black/Ebony version and I'm oh so glad I did. I don't think the other reviews have pointed out a neat detail about it. The photos here don't bring it to view either. The guitar is full of stars!
That is, the finish is a nice, quality, high-gloss black, with the white/ivory piping and polished chrome tuning elements as you see in the photos. But beyond that, there are tiny little "sparkle" flakes below the surface that catch the light. This makes for a nice bit of pizazz!
People have often mistaken it for a Gibson and I correct them immediately. It does look a lot more expensive that it really is, a good buy without doubt. Though this is meant as a starter kit, I think the review here that made me go ahead and purchase had a line that read, "You got a REAL guitar!"
This guitar is a great starter package. With small adjustments to the guitar it is easy to play and has great sound.The strings are garbage, throw them away and get new ones. Nice amp and gig bag, tuner works well. Very happy with the product for the price.
