I got this Bass in Brown burst and man it's gorgeous! I knew right away when I held this bass in my hands "This is it" I played it and it sounded better than I expected. (At least I was using a very pricy amp) I been having this bass for a couple of months now and been using RotoSound strings (RS 665LD)with it and I just love it. The neck is very smooth, no serious buzzing(if adjusted right, light weight, great punchy, warm, and clingy tone at the right settings. I would recommend this bass to any bass player who wants a 5 string to start off with. Most importantly...ALWAYS GET YOUR STRINGS!

If you like a five string and you don't want to reach half way across the fretboard just to go two frets down and one string up, this is the bass for you. It has a nice tight neck that makes this bass almost as easy to play as a guitar, a low smooth action makes for fast and easy transition and the sound is perfect straight off the rack. The 205 offers high quality sound and performance at an entry level price that's hard to say no to. I would recommend this bass for anyone.

  • It's a $300 Bass..

Pros: Beautiful Wood Finish (I got the Brown Burst) Pretty decent stock pickups Nice thin Ibanez neck (Not too wide either) Very light Very thin body Decent sustain Good action on mine, another I tried double, but with less buzz obviously. Cons: Just a tad bit neck heavy (not a huge issue) Neck came what I would consider flat as a washboard action, no concave truss adjustment at all (buzzes quite a bit) tuned to D (full step down) I'm a guitar player (no bass guru) and I bought this bass to record some tracks with. It's definitely a good starter bass, and it definitely has the potential to play shows with as well. Tuned to standard tuning this thing is probably at it's ideal. Tuned down more than a step you may have to mess around quite a bit with the neck and intonation, and it still might not work for you. Other than the above I've already recommended it to some of my students interested in bass.
