Designed for heavy rock bass.

The Ibanez GSR200FM bass guitar is the left handed version of the world's most popular beginner bass, with quality that stands out against other models in its price range. It features an agathis body topped with flamed maple and a thin, fast GSR maple neck with 22 frets on a rosewood fretboard. Two Powersound pickups—a split-coil and a single-coil—and a Phat II Bass Boosts give it an authoritative presence in the groove.

good bass

I bought this guitar actually at SamAsh because Guitar Center ran out of it and I needed it quick. Because left handed people are cursed with left handed guitars, we really dont have a variety of choices to choose from. But, right when my eyes hit this guitar, I knew I wanted it. its an affordable guitar and it has a sleek style and good tone to it. It even has a bass booster which goes great with my Fender Rumble 100. this is a great beginner bass.

The bass is very NOISY!

On the surface this looks like a good bass. I bought it today and found why it's sold at such a low price. The electronics are very noisy. When you turn up the volume on your mixer enough to hear the bass at the same level as the other instruments, there is a very loud "hisssss" that is constant. I put a new battery in but the hisssss was still there just as loud as before. I plugged a different bass into the same cable and the hisssing stopped. Therefore it was the bass that caused the hissing, nothing else. I intend to return the bass first thing in the morning.
