Though the GSR100EX is a fairly "no-frills" kind of bass guitar, it does feature the comfort and playability you'd get from Ibanez's more high-end Soundgear models, and it's Powerpole Dual Coil pickups give you a high output usually missing from beginner basses. The bottom side has a reasonably deep cutaway that allows good access to the lower frets. If you're going to get the hang of playing electric bass, this is a quality choice to get your chops up to snuff on.

Ibanez GSR100EX Soundgear Bass Guitar Features:

  • GSR4 neck
  • Mahogany body
  • Medium frets
  • B10 bridge
  • PPD4 pickup

NEW REVIEW - Great For Anyone!

This bass comes ready to go. Just a quick tune and you are ready to rock. All of the components are in top shape, even the stock strings which are usually pretty poor quality on other guitars. I am a beginner. LEFTY. I'm learning to play bass through friends and online lessons, and this machine makes it easy to do so. This is a full scale, full sounding bass and can be used in for any genre. All in all a great buy!

Great for the money

I have ben playing professionally for 15 years. This bass is fine for the studio or backup instrument. No need to pay more, a little tinny but my amp is very bass'y so it all evens out. It looks as good as the picture too.
