The 6-string Ibanez BTB676 Electric Bass is a powerhouse with unbelievable sound capabilities. The BTB bass also boasts quality woods, superior construction, and cutting-edge electronics.
The BTB676 bass is made with a solid light ash body topped with walnut. A strong 5-piece maple and bubinga thru-neck gives the BTB more resonance and a stronger, more dedicated tone. Exaggerated cutaways allow unrestricted access to the upper frets, and a U shaped neck profile provides comfort for your fretting hand.
The 35" neck scale provides superior articulation, which is ideal for low tunings, and Bartolini MK-2 pickups deliver a balanced tone and plenty of sizzle. Die-cast tuners, cosmo black hardware, and a flat finish round out the Ibanez BTB676 6-string electric bass' features—truly a work of art.

Started Taking Bass Lessons a year ago and became frustrated that I wasn't getting that Low, Earth rumbling metal sound that I love. I was told I should get a 5-String bass so I decided to go one better and get a 6-String. I've always been a fan of Ibanez and my faith was rewarded with the BTB676.
This is a sweet Bass and will most likely be my axe of choice for a looong time. I bought mine used from GC and it was set up perfectly right from the start. I really like the low action and the deep cutaways. The Neck through design with the racing stripes on the back is very Aesthetically pleasing. My bass always turns heads when I pull it out. The string spacing was the Deciding factor for me as the spacing reminded me of a 4-String (I don't like the tight, guitar string spacing of some of the other 6-String Basses.) The 3-band EQ is powerful and gives me that extra oomph. The Low B and High C Strings give me a wide range of sounds so I can do the Low growling Metal sounds as well as the melodic guitar sounds on the high end. Also, I like the fact that B string is tight and doesn't have that floppy rattling sound.
Be warned though, this bass is a beast and not for the faint of heart, or weak of wrist as I found out the hard way. For one thing, it's heavy; not as heavy as its 5-String sister surprisingly, but an SR 300 it ain't. I recommend a good padded strap for that puppy. The wide fret board has my wrist and fingers tingling after playing too long and my pinky can't fret the lower strings after the 12th fret. Make sure your wrists and hands are warmed and limber before playing this bass.
I would highly recommend buying this bass to anybody within earshot, or (eyeshot as the case may be.)
I have been playing bass for 40 years and have owned a number of basses. I currently play a Fender American Standard Deluxe V, Fender 60th Anniversary P Bass, Music Man Classic Sting Ray V and a Music Man 25th Anniversary V.
I decided that I wanted a six string bass so I started looking around and reading reviews. I decided on the Ibanez 676. I was a little hesitant because it was made overseas and I have never been all that impressed by imported guitars. I received the 676 two weeks ago and I have been pleasantly surprised and impressed. The set up was good right out of the box and the fit and finish were exceptional. Most importantly the tone on this bass is great! The 35" scale on this bass does make a difference on the B strings sound. The B string on this bass sounds as punchy as the rest of the strings.
I would definitely recommend this bass. It surpassed all of my expectations.
I've played Kompa and Merengue all over the world and this bass has done it for me, my job, and my music family. I would highly recommend this bass to anyone looking to take it to another level.
