  • Awesome Bass Guitar

As reviewed by Larry Putney on 12/14/2011

Features: This bass has incredible sustain! EQ allow a very wide variety of sounds for any playing style. A lot of other bass?s I tried had good lows & highs but lacked a good midrange. This bass sounds great with all of the EQ?s right down the middle. So there is plenty of adjustment to get any sound for any style of music you play with or without an effects peddle. As for the factory setup, amazing! The intonation was perfect. The action was good but just a little low on the B, E, & A string for my playing style. So I adjusted those strings up a bit. I also re-adjusted the intonation on those strings as well. Quality & Reliability: I have only had this bass for about a month so I will update on reliability at a later date. I don?t see a problem with this bass lasting a long time though. The quality of the workmanship was again amazing. All the screws on the hardware were tight. Look & Feel: This bass looks amazing! I was initially concerned about the weight as it is a lot lighter than my burns bass. But as I said earlier, the sustain & fullness is amazing despite the weight. Actually, lighter is better for my back. All in all? A great bass. I am very happy & would recommend it to anyone.

  • Good Bass, Great for the Price

As reviewed by Glenn Walker on 8/16/2013

I bought this off the shelf a little over a year ago, and I am very pleased with it. The active pickups and 3-band EQ give it a lot of power and a wide range of tones. The mid-control really adds some punch and growl to the bass. It also has great bottom-end, and sounds good for slap bass. It has a lot of sustain; I have to be careful to prevent the notes from droning. The bass is pretty heavy, and I would prefer a little more curve on the edges from front-to-back, particularly on the top, but the sound and comfort of playing make up for it. The neck is somewhat wide, but still very comfortable. I also like that the pickups don't taper toward the body of the bass at the edges, because it gives me a solid place for my thumb when using my fingers to pluck the strings with. I have had no problems whatsoever with this bass so far. I replace the 2 9v batteries every few months, and change the strings every couple of months. If lost this bass for some reason, I would want another like it unless I had much more I could spend. I have another 5-string bass with 3-band EQ that cost about the same, but I rarely use it anymore, it just doesn't have the punch or comfort of playing. I never thought I would get an Ibanez bass, but this has won me over.

  • Beats all basses I've ever played!

As reviewed by Matthew Shultz on 3/10/2012

This bass is amazing. I was a little scared when I ordered it considering no guitarcenter in the US had one in stock to try. When it came in, everything was perfect. Tuned recording perfect directly out of the box, outstanding. The neck is fast, the only five string I've played that's easier to play is a SR prestige but those are way above this price range. The tone is unbeatable! A little weak on the mids from the D string but that can be fixed with a few amp EQ changes. When I plugged it into my GK 210, it blew me away! It was so clear and crisp it was like playing in a silent room after being in water your whole life. The slapping isn't so great for me, it might be a different story for others though. This is a very heavy bass but not as heavy as its older brother. It stays in tuning for an eternity. This bass outplays and outsounds all other basses I've played at every store I've visited!
