Features: really mediocre machine heads. You'll want to swap them out for locking tuners fairly quickly. They are almost plastic feeling, which is depressing. Plastic tone knobs, plastic, pickup covers, plastic pick guard, plastic everything. Ibanez probably couldn't have sold this guitar at it's price with anything metal or quality, which is disappointing. Quality and Reliability: Quality isn't amazing. I'm not going to lie. This guitar looks very beautiful, and the idea of 7 strings and a non metal looking guitar is so attractive, but this simply doesn't come off as a quality instrument. It falls out of tune fairly fast too, thanks to the bad machine heads. I played it live with my band and it fell out half way through a song, the only song it was used for in the set. It's a fair warning to anyone with the hopes and dreams of gigging this thing live. The pickups are an interesting story, as they are good, and not overly loud or too soft. Ibanez got this right. Good job Ibanez. This is great for us. As there are no alternative pickup choices to choose will have to turn you amp up loud to get alway from the sound of the flat wound strings slapping against the fret board. They weren't a good idea...and they don't even sound good with the pickups. Look and Feel: looks great. The vintage sunburst finish is beautiful. The necks finish is good, none of the frets are sharp or anything. The 20 frets actually feel good. 21 would have been nice, but 20 is fine. The painted neck is smooth, not fender smooth, or Gibson fun, but smooth. The guitar should have had metal features, it's very light, and thus somewhat artificial feeling. I wouldn't recommend this guitar simply because of the rather poor features and artificial feel. Should come with a case, but doesn't, should come with good hardware, but it doesn't.
