2 switchable effects.

First, a Cry Baby-style wah with both low and high frequencies cut. Second, an LPF-style wah with only high frequencies cut. The Ibanez AW7 Autowah Pedal also works as a notch filter with the Sensitivity at 0, similar to having a wah turned on but not "rocked." Built-in distortion circuit can be switched to either pre or post wah.

Ibanez AW7 Tone Lok Autowah Pedal Features:

  • 2 switchable effects: Cry Baby-style wah with both lows and highs cut or an LPF-style wah with only highs cut
  • With Sens at 0 it works as a notch filter, like having a wah turned on but not "rocked"
  • Built-in distortion circuit can be switched to either pre or post wah

Wah Happened?

I own this wah. It's pretty much a piece of junk. It eats batteries 10 times faster than any other pedal I have, you have to almost bang on the strings to get any wah out of it, and the wah it does give is seriously substandard. Buy the Ibanez Weeping Demon and save yourself the frusteration of the AW7.

Very good envelope filter

The AW7 is a great value -- it does a lot of classic envelope filter sounds (mu-tron III-esque) with the option of drive either before or after the filter. Using this on bass and guitar, my favorite feature of the pedal was the extraordinary sustain of the effect -- unlike most envelope filters, the AW7 maintained the effect for the duration of the note.
