Availability:

Seductive natural flame maple top.

The Ibanez AS103 Artcore Guitar offers semi-hollow sustain, power, and feedback resistance. Flamed maple on the top back and sides provides beauty and clear tone. A 5-piece Artcore custom set-in neck increases sustain and strength. Two Ibanez Custom 58 pickups have a full, versatile output great for rhythm and lead. Artcore Custom inlays and gold hardware complete the elegant package.Players, music store owners and the music industry press were stunned by the debut of the affordable Ibanez Artcore guitars in 2002. That still didn't prepare them for the unveiling of the Artcore Customs in 2005. These are truly exquisite guitars that offer patrician specs and tones at plebeian prices. The question "How do you do it?" is still being asked.Check the drop-down menu to the right to select colors and/or other options.

  • Six-string sex

As reviewed by NORMAN MORROW on 9/26/2011

Like so many others I've checked out the varied options of semi-hollow electrics. While I've tended to be a die-hard Gibson user the cost of an ES was more than I could muster and the other brands available had some point or another that made them less than desirable. Being the owner of a 1994 RG270, I decided to look at Ibanez. I played the AS73 models and while they were nice, the action just wasn't there and the sound wasn't on mark. The local GC didn't have an AS103 on the wall so I took a chance and had one ordered into the store. Prompt delivery(about 3 days) found me eagerly picking up my new guitar. Words can not even begin to describe the experience. Unpacking the box was like Christmas, and the first sight of the sharp gray case was almost transcendent. But opening the case was truly a reward! If you've looked at this guitar(it's not even fair to call this beauty an axe), believe me, the pictures do not come close to portraying what you get for your money. Beauty combined with extreme attention to detail with the added bonus of art deco styling which calls up the spirit of D'Angelico makes this one hell of an instrument. And the sound is UNBELIEVABLE! I used this baby on a slide guitar track and was delighted with the smooth buttery rhythm delivery and the viciously rich leads all achieved from the center pickup select. The neck PU is the standard of dark sweetness and the bridge PU just rages with no loss of control. The 58 hi outputs are truly fine. I believe I definitely got MY money's worth and more to boot. If my AS103 was a woman life would be perfect!

  • BIG Wow factor

As reviewed by Dennis Duren on 7/26/2011

I've been playing a Fender Highway 1 American made Strat that mt sweetheart of a daughter bought me several years ago. I have no complaints about it at all, it plays beautifully, but wanted something sililar to a Gibson ES335 for a different sound. After reading reviews both on this site and elsewhere, I opted for the Ibanez Artcore custom AS103. This guitar is a precision instrument right out of the box. The craftsmanship is excellent and I can't find a single flaw anywhere. Besides being a gorgeous guitar to look at (the online pictures don't do it justice) it plays like a dream. The reviews were spot on! Yes, it is somewhat heavy but nothing prohibitive. I've only had it for a little over a week but I can't seem to put it down. Even unplugged it sounds good. When amped it produces that beautiful woody resonating tone that is just outstanding! I'm still dinking with my Fender Blues Deluxe Reissue trying to find what settings nest compliment this guitar. Whether you're a seasoned professional or just someone like myself who has played for 40 years it's a steal! Best money I've ever spent! Get one while you can. My only regret was that I didn't get the natural finish. Found out Ibanez no longer makes this guitar in that finish but the vintage brown is WAY better looking that it appears in the photos. If you live in a dry climate I'd strongly advise a case humidifier. I purchased the Oasis OH6 with OH2 Hygrometer so you'll always know the humidity inside the case.
