The 25" scale, 24-fret, arched-top single-cutaway ARZ800 has the Ultimate smooth access neck joint for shredding. The quilted maple top in a choice of tranparent finishes adds sparkle to the warm tones of the mahogany back and 3-piece mahogany /maple set neck. Active EMG-60 and 81 humbuckers promote crunchy rhythms and scorching leads. The locking Tight-tune bridge and tailpiece provide more tuning stability and long sustain.

I can't get over how good this guitar sounds. It has amazing resonance and sustains longer than my neck-through BC Rich. The pickups are excellent, and give good tone with no sterility. Every bit as lively as passive pickups and versatile. One star off though: The setup was mediorce out of the box, and there is a cosmetic flaw in the binding where it was gouged when the fret ends were polished. Also the fretboard was very dry and needed some attention. The scale length is perfect. I also like the neck shape. Like a les Paul. And the neck is three piece, a maple beam down the length in the center with mahogany braces. Should not ever warp. I would definitly buy another if something happened to it.
All the features listed online are what you get, and I got the purple burst finish, and the pictures don't do this guitar justice, it looks stunning and sounds twice as better. Definitely a good buy if you are into hard rock/metal because of the EMG pups, but it can clean up nicely.
Just purchased this guitar and used it for a couple shows right out of the box, setup was okay but needs some perfecting. 4 stars versus 5, I had to order it sight unseen as Guitar Center where I live didn't have any in inventory, but they have a plethora of starter guitars (groan). So the quilted tops shown in the pictures are beautiful, the one I received is rather vanilla and difficult to see. The EMG pickups have a lot of punch to them, the tone really rips through the mix. I've always shied away from actives due to the battery issues - Ibanez got it right and have a port to allow easy change-out of batteries, problem solved. Also the solderless aspect of the pickups is awesome, can try a different EMG pickup by swapping them out - brilliant idea and removes electrical wiring headaches. Stays in tune, I'm mean to guitars bending-wise and this holds up to rigors of the road, plays wall and stays in tune. Ibanez finally got it right, a fixed bridge Ibanez for players who play the heavy stuff. Worth the extra $$$ to get this higher end guitar!
