Traditional warm sound perfect for small-group and jazz formats.

The Ibanez AK95 Electric Guitar has a full-hollow body and features gorgeous looks with a spruce top and flamed maple back and sides. Its crafted rosewood bridge offers warmer tone, while the set, three-piece Artcore deluxe neck with 20 large frets delivers easy playability. A traditional rosewood, 20-fret fingerboard is combined with just the right placement of the ACH1 humbucking neck pickup for a higher level of warm tonality.

  • Excellent sound for the price

As reviewed by Steve Carter on 8/22/2010

If your looking for a good hollow body for a great price, this is the guitar for you. I had the local dealer go over the setup and the sound is very impressive. There was some feedback, as hollow bodies may be inclined to do, but that easily remedied by changes in sound reinforcement. The color was darker than in the picture, but still excellent. The spruce top and wooden bridge make this one stand out among others in it's price class.

  • I've Got the Dark Honey Sunburst

As reviewed by Diego Play-Doh on 5/17/2010

If you're considering moving from heavy rock & metal (we all get too old to pull that off), then this guitar would be a great choice for moving into another genre: jazz. It's light, acoustically pleasing, beautiful to the eye, and the neck is a joy to play. To my disbelief, I don't get much feedback. It feels downright tight, and the string tension and low action make 1/32nd note scales a breeze. I'm not that virtuosic, but my playing has improved because of this guit's quality--I'm dead serious about this. I strongly recommend replacing the factory-installed d'Addarios (roundwound) with either d'Addario flatwound 12-56, or with S-I-T "Jazz Light." Its tone is beautiful amped into my Tech21 Trademark 60. What great jazz vibe with this duo!

  • Jazz heaven

As reviewed by Rob on 6/10/2010

I'm really impressed with the Ibanez Artcore line. The only thing my AK needed was fret polishing, flat wounds and a setup. I know it's popular to change out the pickups but I'm liking them so they stay for now. This guitar looks stunning in the Dark Violin and plays like a dream. These are a steal at $550 and I got 15% off that!
