The Ibanez AEL2012ETKS 12-String Acoustic Electric Guitar sports a flamed maple top and maple & back sides. The cutaway gives you full access to the rosewood fretboard. Other features include an abalone rosette, chrome die-cast tuners, Ivorex ™ nut and saddle, and Advantage™ bridge pins.

The AEL2012ETKS is equipped to shine in any venue with the Fishman Sonicore and the AEQ-SST Shape Shifter Preamp. The Fishman Sonicore is an under-the saddle pickup designed to eliminate sonic deadspots and is made from a copolymer material in a special braided wire. The 3-band AEQ-SST Shape Shifter Preamp was specifically designed to work with the Fishman Sonicore pickup and features a tone shaper that lets you quickly and easily dial in the sound you want. The Shape Shifter is quiet and has a lot of headroom so you can get more volume before distortion sets in. It also has a phase reverse switch for eliminating feedback and an onboard tuner.

  • Took awhile to get....was it worth the wait?

    This took quite a while to get. First it was on back order then pushed back about a week, then 2 weeks, 3 weeks! I almost gave up. I love this guitar. I've had it just shy of a week and can't stop playing it. The sound is truly angelic. Not like some 12s that are "tinty" or just plain flat. This thing has a soft, sweetness to it...it just sounds right! Songs I gave up trying to play years ago because they seemed to lack something sound absolutely beautiful with this baby. My guitars have to sound just right to me...and this does. I was taking a gamble never having played it and ordering on-line. Gamble???!! I broke the bank with this! This is an great sounding instrument.

    This guitar is my first 12 string, and I decided to go with this one because I had an Ibanez 6 string acoustic-electric a few years back that was flawless and sounded great! SO I figured what the heck the 12 string should also be good. Sound wise, its awesome. Great bass from the huge body. Over all it gets an A in that department. Build quality, however was lacking a bit. The flamed top looks brilliant, except in a few spots it appears a bit uneven almost warped. Its not noticeable unless you really look for it. Also, the electronics work amazingly however the phase button sticks. Granted this is just on my guitar, I may have just gotten a lemon model, so to speak. But for the money, its a great 12 string that not only sounds great, it plays great.

    I have played Estilo Sierreno, which is a variation of mexican regional music, that requires a twelve string guitar for 5 years and have never owned an instrument that has so many pros for such a good price. Highly recommended to any Sierreno guitar player. Sounds excellent with both the amp and without one.
