  • Great bang for the buck!

As reviewed by James P. on 2/24/2010

I did a lot of research and tried probably 40 or more guitars. I never had any experience with Ibanez, but once I picked this guitar up and played it...I didn't want to put it down. I tried many others before finally deciding on this one, but nothing that I was looking for that was under $1500 even came close to the sound and feel that the AE20 has. It meets or exceeds the sound of $1000-$1500 Taylors when plugged in. When playing unplugged, the sound isn't as pronounced (it's a good guitar to play unplugged in the living room without disturbing the rest of the household)...but that's the point of an electric acoustic: plugging it in. The first time I took this to play in church, I was amazed at the sound that it put out through the PA system that we use. The on-board EQ was easy to dial in to get the correct sound for the room and the other band members (with much more experience) were impressed with the guitar, especially for the low price tag. Not bad for a room that seats 450 and has a high ceiling. I strongly recommend this guitar for hobbyists to active players alike. You won't be disappointed.

  • awesome!

When I'm playing without plugging in, it's not too loud, but has a good volume, and a good sound, but when I plug in, the quality of the sound increases a good deal, and compliments come in about it all the time. It even looks as good as it sounds! This is the best guitar I've owned for sure.

  • THIS IS A MUST HAVE FOR ANYONE

As reviewed by sue on 6/6/2010

Ive had this guitar for a month now. Bought it from GC. In Saginaw Mi. I absolutely love it. I read reviews on alot of guitars before choosing this one. I am using a small Behringer Accoustic Amp and its sounds wonderful. And even more important the ACTION plays like a dream, so very smooth. Not to mention the dynamite looks of the guitar itself. The Vintage Violin finish was flawless and the guitar looks much better in person than in a picture. I find mine to be really more of an orange and yellow color than true sunburst. The finish was flawless, but the frets showed poor manufacturing clean up. Glue residue. But it came right off with fretbord cleaner. Really if thats the only thing I can find wrong with it... OH WELL. Im telling you that you will not be disappoint in this instrument. Just simply wonderful.
