  • Fantastic Acoustic Bass

As reviewed by Patrick M. Tracy on 7/6/2010

I just picked this bass up a few days ago after a long search for an acoustic/electric bass. I liked this bass in terms of looks, usable volume while not plugged in, and general playing dynamics. I'd go so far as to say that I liked it better than the basses that cost twice as much. The tuner works well, and is a very handy feature. I was shocked when I plugged it into my home amp (Peavey TKO 115 S) how "big" the sound was. Also pleased with how quiet the electronics are. No residual hum or whine here. Very pleased with initial quality, sound, and fit/finish. As with all Ibanez guitars, the neck is fast and allows for clean, quick playing. Can't imagine getting more for the money than this. Less expensive than the Ibanez solid I started with 20 years ago, and puts it to shame in terms of tone. Highly recommended for just about any type of music.

  • Worthy - Solid - Powerful - Clean

As reviewed by Joe V. on 4/16/2010

I was watching Nathan East last night on a DVD concert with Clapton and decided to get an acoustic bass like his. I already own a couple Fender Ps and an Ibanez SR500, so I decided on another Ibanez. This one was used and quite unhappy looking in the center island, so I picked it up and went over and plugged it into an Acoustic B-450. What magic and tone and feeling and ability! Why-o why did someone trade this in? It has a new and very appreciative home now with it's brother and some cousins. Now I'm going to find some blues and jazz grooves to play as this is an incredible sounding - almost like an upright - bass. I'll work on that sound too! To whomever sold or traded this in: I have it now and I am NOT considering ever selling it. It is loved.

  • If you're looking STOP RIGHT HERE!!

As reviewed by Burgman on 5/19/2009

I've had this acoustic bass for about a year now, and i haven't been able to put it down. it's so perfectly balanced in my hands, standing or sitting, just a very comfortable bass to play. The tuner and EQ sliders can kinda be in the way depending on the way you play, but you can make this guitar sound FAT with them. I recommend this bass to anyone looking for a easy to use, gets the job done, acoustic bass. If you have one keep rockin', if you don't start saving this one is worth every penny in this bass players opinion. Cheers!
