The Artwood series was crafted to produce a traditional as well as a modern guitar. Technology moves forward at a frantic pace and the world of guitar craftsmanship is no different. In producing the AC300NT Artwood Grand Concert Acoustic Guitar, Ibanez respected the rich tradition of the acoustic guitar while adding modern interpretations in their continuing search for the ultimate in guitar tone.
This is a descendent of the old orchestral acoustic guitars, instruments designed to be audible over large instrumental ensembles in the days before amplification.
This Grand Concert body features a wider, 44.5mm neck and shorter 24.9" scale length, ideal for finger picking, while the Solid Engelmann Spruce top and Mahogany back and sides provide a robust tone. Rounding out this rich-sounding acoustic are chrome Grover Tuners for better tuning stability, bone nut and saddle for enhanced overtones, and an easy grip neck shape. Other refinements include a distinctively contoured bridge and a headstock where tradition and modern style co-exist.

I actually went to the Guitar Center to check out a Takamine with a ceder top...in the same price range. It had been highly recommended to me. I liked the rich sound and the lightness of the Takamine, but wasn't sold on it yet. After picking up several guitars, in the $300 and under price range, I sat down with this Ibanez Art Wood acoustic. It felt great in my hands, and played easier than anything else I had tried. The action was perfect, and the neck was slightly wider than the others....a real plus for my finger-style. The tone was mellow and fairly bright, with less volume than a dreadnought style, but still plenty strong.
The guitar itself is well-made and has a quality feel. The inlaid abalone around the sound
hole is a attractive touch. This is my first Ibanez, and so far, I'm very pleased with it.
