IK Multimedia warrants to the original purchaser of the computer software product, for a period of ninety (90) days following the date of original purchase, that under normal use, the software program and the user documentation are free from defects that will materially interfere with the operation of the program as described in the enclosed user documentation.
8) WARRANTY CLAIMS
To make a warranty claim under the above limited warranty, please return the product to the point of purchase, accompanied by proof of purchase, your name, your return address and a statement of the defect, or send the CD(s) to us at the below address within ninety (90) days of purchase. Include a copy of the dated purchase receipt, your name, your return address and a statement of the defect. IK Multimedia or its authorized dealer will use reasonable commercial efforts to repair or replace the product and return it to you (postage prepaid) or issue to you a credit equal to the purchase price, at its option.

IK Multimedia warrants only that the program will perform as described in the user documentation. The actual hardware works like a charm overall. It does exactly what it says it will do. However, if you are buying it with the hopes of using it with Amplitube it has a ton of loud hissing and extra noise that really interferes with the sound quality. I have used it with both my iPhone 4 and my iPad2 and the hissing is the same for both. The plus side is that it works most of th other apps out there as well and doesn't produce his while in those environments. Ampkit, PocketAmp, JamUp, iShred; they all work without hiss. Honestly haven't tried with GarageBand yet, but with Amplitube Free and Fender Amplitube Free you'll get the hiss. Still fun as heck to play, jut use a lot of noise gate. Trying to Jo,d the guitar and the device at the same time. Is a little clunky too so figure out a way to make that work more efficicient and you'll be glad you did. Other than those thins and all the good effects being in-app purchases it's a pretty good deal overall.
I've been using iRig for about a year now with AmpliTube and AmpliTube Fender. Both sound AMAZING with iRig! I can even play my bass through it and get awesome tones out of my iPhone! Any Guitar or Bass player with an iPhone or iPad should have one!
This is an excellent gadget when you want to play your guitar with headphones. It's excellent for practice. Don't expect AmpliTube and your iPhone to replace a real amplifier and effects pedals. And certainly don't expect that this appliance can be used in live gig or anything of sort.
But if you want to have a handy app on your iPhone which can give you a bit extra during a Jam Session with your friends - look no more. It has a Tuner which i find most useful, amount of effects in AmpliTube is more than enough. Don't bother with free version it sucks, just pay another $20 and get commercial AmpliTube - it's worth it.
Only problem i found is the short cable which is only couple of inches long and iPhone kept sliding off my knee constantly. To solve this you'll need a female-to-male TRRS Audio Extension cable, DON'T buy regular 1/8" audio extension cables they wont work (I made that mistake and wasted 15 bucks).
The jack needs to be 4-pole, do a google search for "Mogami 3.5mm TRRS 4-Pole Male to 3.5mm 4-Pole Female Cable" and you'll find one. Two of my local Guitar Centers never had these cables so i had to order online.
As instructions say don't hookup the headphone output 1/8" directly to an amp - that will give you static, instead get 1/8" stereo cable which splits into 2 RCA jacks, which you can plug into a mixer or an audio interface. I haven't tried doing it other way around, but since it's almost an ONLY thing mentioned in hardware instructions - i'm sure it's true.
You also might want to get "iKlip? MINI" which just came out. It's an iPhone clip which can be put on any Mic stand for convenience. That will make it a TOTAL package.
Bottom line - it's an expensive toy. But let's be honest it's a VERY nice toy!
