Easy, powerful, and affordable amp modeling for your computer!
AmpliTube Live includes the AmpliTube LE plug-in for most major formats (VST, Audio Units, DX, and RTAS), so you get a standalone app and plug-in in one box! Combine three different preamp models and related EQs with three accurately emulated cabinets to precisely craft a wide palette of guitar sounds ranging from clean to crunch to lead. A set of four classic effects, including a spacious spring reverb and three stomp-like effects-wah-wah, delay, and overdrive-are all modeled on acclaimed classic guitar effects. In addition, there's a chromatic tuner so you always know you're in pitch. AmpliTube takes full advantage of ASIO, DirectX, and Mac OS X Core Audio drivers so it plays without any perceptible latency. Extremely easy to use, and works with built-in Mac and PC audio cards.
AmpliTube LE is designed to work in all major audio sequencers, including Cubase, Pro Tools, Logic, Sonar, Digital Performer, GarageBand, or any Audio Unit, VST, DX, or RTAS-compatible host application. Record guitar tracks, fully integrating AmpliTube LE in your DAW.

Rock and Roll Forever with Amplitube!
IK Multimedia has given my the time of my life! As a serious guitarist and recording engineer, AMPLITUBE has changed my world! I used to record my distorted guitar tracks solely through the PODxt by Line 6, but now -- I simply record a dry guitar track and wala! The AMPLITUBE plug-in gives me an infinite range of sounds ranging from jazzy clean, to flanged, to phased, to outright, overdriven, ear-bleeding distortion!
The reason why AMPLITUBE is so sweet is that, like I mentioned before, I only have to record once. That is, if I don't like a particular preset, I simply change the preset and a totally new guitar sound is the result. In the past, we would have been forced to buy a whole new amplifier and cabinet set to get the sound that AMPLITUBE gives with a click of a mouse!
Another nice thing is that you can adjust the settings (e.g., reverb, the cabinet, delay, the stomp effect, the overdrive, etc...)and actually create and save your own preset for later use!
The ONLY problem I have with AMPLITUBE is the NOISE. The IK Multimedia folks have awesomely replicated the most classical American and British amps; however, they have also replicated the NOISE from them too. I found myself using a GATE from another plug-in to eliminate this static. (The GATE on AMPLITUBE was unresponisive for me. Shucks. If this had worked properly, I would have given AMPLITUBE a rating of 5 out of 5.)
Nevertheless, this product is a solid amplifier plug-in!

with the right ASIO, it rocks
I had some trouble with this initially (big time lag on the dell 5150 laptop), but I eventually found an ASIO driver for generic soundcards, and now things work great. The tones are quite good from this software. I've found many tones I like with only a little setting twiddling. Can't speak to the software's 'accuracy' vis-a-vis the amps it's modelling, but I don't care.
