Hughes & Kettner packed all their know-how and over a quarter of a century‘s passion for tube amps into a remarkably compact chassis. Thanks to German engineering, it can go from a roar to a whisper which is perfect for any application: rehearsals, gigs or practice at home. Serving up three different sounds at the touch of a footswitch, the soulful Tube-Meister 18 is the go-to guitar amp for gigging. Its four-step power soak brings the sound of the big stage into small clubs and your own four walls. And courtesy of the built-in Red Box and silent recording capability, you can lay down pro-quality tracks at any time day or night. The TubeMeister 18 Combo offers all the tasty features of the TubeMeister 18 Head plus the shimmer and shine of a digital spring reverb. The Celestion 10˝ speaker was custom designed specifically for the TubeMeister. Housed in a sophisticated Thiele-Small enclosure, it conjures a far bigger sound than anything one might expect from a combo.

Not as versatile as I thought

By Jeff

from Steubenville

Love the concept-- power soak, red box out, beautiful look (glowing blue fiddley bits). Dug the Thomas Blug demo. However, I read one review that said the clean channel could "crunch" if you turned up the clean gain--well, it's really just a (beautiful!) clean channel, it won't crunch like the clean channel on the DSL40C, which I ended up getting (after a long sound check). I guess if you had EMG pickups, maybe the clean would crunch, but for single coils or basic hotness Duncans it wouldn't crunch for me (the clean channel). The lead channel can make some great, great gain-tones, but the "boost" is a pretty giant volume increase and it's fixed. It's kinda limited without a presence or resonance, or a mid-scoop feature. Read about a reverb problem--didn't experience that at all so I guess they may have corrected that. Beautiful piece, loved the red box DI (zero watt) output, but there is just too much difference between clean and lead channels for me (Zep, Rush, Cream, Junior Brown, not any metal) Definitely worth a tone tryout.

The Last Amp I will ever need to buy.

By oscar henrriquez

from La Jolla, California

The range of tones I can get out of this amp is amazing. The response to your guitar's volume, tone, and pickup selection is unrivaled. Great clean tones that can be clipped to get that Blues Man sound. Lead Channel that can go from "The Cars" to "Metallica". Boost Lead tones to die for; from Zappa to Slash. The 1-Watt settings is fantastic for home. The 5-Watt setting is great for jamming. The 18-Watt setting is more than enough for any gig. If you need more,(wich would be doubtful) then send it through the PA. The DI out is spectacular. I recommend the putting it on a stand and getting the FS-2.

Smokin' little monster

I love this amp. I wanted something light to carry around for smaller gigs, but it had to have a great clean tone and burning overdrive when I need it. This has all of that and more. I couldn't be happier, and at a price much less expensive than boutique amps. Also buy the FS2 Foot Switch to access both channels and the boost. You'll be glad you did!

Amazing little amp!!!

By Bruno Simoes

from Rio de Janeiro - Brasil

I'm in love with it. I own a Mesa Boogie Express 5:25 as well, and now the Tubemeister arrived, I'm selling it, because I only play in my bedroom. I have to say that the clean sound on Mesa is beautiful and sounds even better than the HK. But you can only get great drive sounds on it when the amp is loud as hell!!! With the Tubemeister the magic really begins when you select the channel 2 and even more with the boost on. Amazing drive sounds in any volume. Almost any Rock and Roll and blues tone can be found in there. It's incredible the amp responses if you turn up and down the gain knob... 5 stars for sure! Cheers from Brasil!
